This welcoming 17th-century farmhouse is set in the quiet hamlet of Mosedale, surrounded by the beautiful northern fells of the Lake District. Nestled beneath Carrock Fell, guests can relax and unwind in the tranquillity of the countryside whilst only being 10 miles from the market town of Keswick. For periods in the summer, the Quaker Meeting House in the village opens up as a shop selling homemade cakes and sandwiches made by local people in aid of charity. This area is known locally as 'Back o' Skidda', home to spectacular fells such as Blencathra, Bowscale, Great Calva, Carrock Fell and High Pike. It is therefore a popular area for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. There is a lovely walk from Mosedale which takes you up to Bowscale Tarn and back through the valley. Rooking House equestrian and activity centre is less than 7 miles away and offers a great range of pursuits.
This renovated first-floor barn conversion offers a traditional, cosy feel with great views across the valley. As you walk into the bright and spacious open-plan kitchen/lounge with dining area, you will feel right at home. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare a hearty breakfast or a romantic evening meal, and a dining table where you can sit down and make plans for your days ahead while admiring the views! The welcoming double bedroom is just off the lounge and boasts an en-suite wet room with a walk-in shower and WC.
Outside, there is a private garden with seating where guests can enjoy a glass of wine on a warm evening or read a good book with their morning coffee. As well as the garden, there are some scenic walks and cycle routes available from the door.
