Beautifully renovated, this two-story property is nestled in the village of Cark-in-Cartmel. An ideal location for friends and families to explore the Lake District and surrounding coast. A short journey away is the infamous village of Cartmel (2 miles) – renowned for its sticky toffee pudding and Michelin Star restaurants. Within walking distance, you can find Holker Hall and Gardens (0.5 miles) which offers beautiful parkland to explore as well as a café and food hall, or only 100 metres away, the local 17th century dog-friendly inn has lots to offer. Also, close by, the Ornamental Gardens at Grange-over-Sands (4 miles), the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway (5 miles), and the tip of Lake Windermere at Newby Bridge (8 miles) all offer a great day of adventure.

This home-from-home is beautifully presented, with an open plan living/dining area as you enter the property. Instantly soaking up the relaxing ambience of the wood burner, there is plenty of space to kick back and relax in the evening watching a movie on the Smart TV or keeping the conversation flowing over breakfast. Heading up to the first floor, you will find the sumptuous super-king-size bedroom. As with the other rooms, the bedroom is designed with both style and comfort in mind, with plenty of wardrobe space, wall mounted Smart TV, and a dressing table you can take a break and wind down in your own private space. Next door, also on the first floor is the brightly decorated shower room. Up the stairs again to the second floor, you will find yourself in the second super-king-size zip-n-link bedroom, which offers the practicality of splitting into a twin upon request. Again, this tastefully designed bedroom is accompanied by a bathroom next door. Heading back downstairs to the first floor we can head to the kitchen. Another clean and fresh space that is thoughtfully designed to cater to your every need, whether it’s coffee on the go in the morning or a delicious meal for four.

Outside, the rear garden is private but you can access the outside shed and exit the garden, walking towards Holker Hall.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Bank, the cottage is in an excellent location for exploring the local area and further afield, with lots of walks and places to explore. The only downside was the lack of local places to eat on Monday & Tuesday evenings, which if we had known we could of had an early meal when we were out and about. Just mentioning thisRead more so future guests aren't caught out like we were. Hide

Generally really good. Beds and pillows so comfy and good quality slept really well which is a big plus for us. Bathrooms spacious and clean. Amazing amounts of hot water. Shame back garden access only.

We enjoyed a week in the house taking part in the great north swim. It is a really lovely house very comfortable and done up to a high standard. It had everything we needed for the week and the location was great for what we were doing. The walk to Cartmel is lovely as are some of the other local walks. The road is thin so if you have a normal/wideRead more car park further down the road near the grit bin otherwise it is very tight. Lovely quiet location for a holiday. Hide

We enjoyed a long weekend here having had a bad experience with another company, Sunny Bank was a tonic, with it's lovely comfy big beds, great shower, good quality equipment, everything we needed and importantly very clean. A lot of careful thought gone into this cottage. Oh! And lovely neighbours.

The property lives up to its name as the front garden Nee is a sun trap with lovely views - just the place to sit with a glass of wine on an evening.
