On the edge of historic market town of Dalton-in-Furness, the area offers much to see and do. From Independent shops and eateries to miles of stunning coastline to walk and cycle, there is something for everyone. The wonderful Lake Windermere is a 30 minute drive, 10 minute drive to Ulverston with its beautiful cobbled streets full of independent shops and Eateries the birth place of Stan Laurel and nd a 5 minute drive to South Lakes Safari Zoo. Abbots Wood and its surrounding areas provide an excellent opportunity for a delightful day out. In addition to the magnificent Furness Abbey, visitors can enjoy circular walks in various directions, access to a car park, and a cafe. A short drive to Walney Island, (5 miles) where you can appreciate the beautiful nature reserves at North and South Walney. Visitors may even have the chance to witness the seals! A visit to the charming Piel Island (6.5 miles), featured in National Geographic, is a must-do activity and can be easily accessed by a quick ferry ride from the mainland.

Upon entering the property through the grand archway, you are welcomed by exposed beams and stunning stonework surrounding the wood burner. The main lounge is a comfy space with plenty of room for two to relax whilst watching your favourite films on the Smart TV. Through the hallway, the amply supplied kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm. Heading upstairs to the double bedroom, a cosy space to get your head down after a day exploring the local area. On the same floor, the beautifully tiled walk-in shower room and separate WC offer a taste of luxury and convenience.

Outside, to the rear of the property, the shared garden has a small area where you can soak up the sunshine.

The cottage was lovely, quirky and very comfortable and warm. Our dog adored the underfloor heating! Owners friendly and helpful

Beautiful property stuffed full of character and in a good position to explore the southern lakes. Huge disappointment for us - particularly with a dog on raw food - was the lack of a fridge freezer. This is advertised on the site as "Fridge, Freezer" but tbh I've seen bigger 'min-bars' in hotels. The addition of the fridge freezer along with a TV Read moreaerial for the Smart TV would make this a perfect 5 star. Hide

A beautiful and unique place with tons of character. Everything you need, plus lots of thoughtful touches. Perfect location to explore the coast and lakes. This was also our dogs first trip from home and she took to the place in no time. There is a lovely little walk to the nearby Abbey on your doorstop and you are but minutes from the beach and 30Read more-45mins to the lakes There is everything you may need for a short stay. Lovely cottage. Very different to what we usually book. Very clean and cosy. Dog made welcome as the owners made us welcome. Well situated to explore the Lakes. The cottage very well equipped.

Full of cosy rustic charm, but with convenient modern kitchen and bathing facilities inside - comfortable living room and sleeping. An excellent base for a holiday taking in both the South Lakes, and the coast of Morecambe Bay and Walney Island. Fabulous property 10 mins from some stunningly beautiful dog friendly beaches and 30 mins from the Lakes. A perfect retreat away from the bustle yet close enough to so many lovely places. So cosy and welcoming with fabulous extras- what a gem!

A beautiful Lodge. The attention to detail throughout was well thought out and although the photos on the website are good and will pique your interest, the real deal is lovelier. Small touches such as fresh flowers, a helpful book with places of interest, as well as a spacious outside green space for our dog to scamp around was lovely. Look out foRead morer the Chicken of the Woods and swift box in the garden; a lovely find. Highly recommend, even thinking about our next visit! Hide
