Situated in one of Kendal's historic side streets, this charming property is ideally located to enjoy all this market town has to offer. Within 300 metres, The Brewery Arts Centre, with a cinema, theatre, cafe, and bar, offers everything from comedy shows to great live music. Kendal town centre has plenty to see and do, with independent local shops and cafes as well as local river walks and the atmospheric ruins of Kendal Castle. Also known as The Gateway to the Lake District, this market town has easy access to the main lakes, with bus and train routes right through the heart of the national park. A day trip to the likes of Windermere (8.5 miles), Ambleside (13 miles) and Grasmere (16.5 miles) offers even more adventure, from boat rides on the lake to some of the most stunning scenery in the country.

Step up into the property from the quiet side street and enter into the main kitchen/dining area. It is well-equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm and features a cosy dining space. Walking through into the homely lounge, you are greeted with plush sofas and a wood burner-effect gas fire, as well as games and plenty of books. Enjoy your evenings with a glass of wine and your favourite film whilst looking out over the sunny patio. Heading upstairs to the first floor, you will find the single bedroom, an immaculate space with views over the rooftops. Next door, the cosy double bedroom has everything you need for a good night's sleep after a busy day on the fells. On the same floor is the family bathroom giving practicality as well as comfort. Head up to the second floor, where you’ll find the attic room – a bright space with a king-size bed as well as a TV for those lazy mornings. Please note there is reduced head height due to low, sloping ceilings.

Outside, the south-facing garden with seating is a sunny spot to enjoy your morning coffee, and with a BBQ provided, the whole group can get together to dine alfresco and watch the sun go down. For the cyclists of the group, the secure outhouse at the bottom of the garden provides security and access via the neighbouring side street.

Lovely cottage in great central location, walking distance to shops, pubs, cafes and local attractions. Living space a little cramped for a family of 5 and a dog (!), but perfect for 4 or less. Parking can be a bit problematic if you need regular access to a car, with the cottage on a steep hill, parking spaces 50-100 yards up the hill and one-way Read moresystems round Kendal, but good to keep you fit or try and ditch the car as much as possible! We had a lovely stay and thought the cottage was really well situated for Kendal. It had a lovely south facing back garden where you could see across into the town below. There was a lovely local green where our dog could run around freely and there were walks locally and a short drive away from Windermere for all that offered too. Would definitelyRead more recommend.
