Welcome to this exquisite property nestled in the serene and picturesque South Lake District, offering a luxurious retreat for guests seeking unparalleled beauty and tranquility. With awe-inspiring views of the surrounding countryside from every vantage point, this stunning getaway is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike with ample opportunities for peaceful walks or bike rides in the renowned Lake District National Park. Indulge in the beauty of the Coniston Fells a short drive away or embark on a memorable trip aboard the Steam Yacht Gondola over Coniston Water (7.2 miles). For a taste of local charm, Broughton-In-Furness (1 mile) awaits with its quaint shops, butchers and welcoming pubs. For daring guests, a thrilling drive over the infamous Hardknott Pass (10.2 miles), England's steepest road, followed by a visit to the postcard-perfect village of Eskdale (11.6 miles) for a day out on the La'l Ratty, will be unforgettable.

Upon entry you are greeted with the kitchen come snug area, equipped with all you need, including a wood burning stove as well as high tec appliances such as a 6-ring electric aga and a Rancilio Silvia expresso machine, with ample room to prepare your evening meals. Through the hallway you will find the dining room with seating for up to 10, a cosy space with open fire festooned by church candle. To the right of this you can find the downstairs WC with a walk-in shower. Across from here, you’ll find the living room with a plush brown leather sofa and chairs as well as an open fire, making it a relaxing evening in front of the Smart TV. To complete the ground floor the utility room, with a Miele washing machine, separate dryer and additional log burning stove, means you can make sure your boots are warmed and jackets are dried after a day on the fells. A few steps up carries you into the stunning garden room. Again, with a log burning stove and Bi-fold patio doors, this living space brings the outside in, and is an ideal place to relax on sunny days as well as cosy up in the depths of winter where you can experience all seasons of weather from the comfort of the stunning teal tweed sofas. Onto the second floor, accessed again by a small flight of stairs, you can find the first three bedrooms. The first double bedroom facing to the front of the house, offers views across the neighbouring fields. Similarly next door, the single bedroom is spacious and offers a range of books as well as plenty of storage. The third bedroom is another comfortable double bedroom with views towards the garden and patio at the rear of the house. The adjoining en-suite to the third bedroom is a brightly lit space with a walk-in shower and access to the patio and garden. Completing the second floor is the family bathroom, with a stunning tub-style bath and a walk-in shower. Heading up to the third floor you will find the master bedroom with a super-king-size bed, a beautiful space with a balcony and bi-fold doors overlooking the nearby fells – on a good day you can enjoy views as to the Coniston fells and beyond. The en-suite again offers a walk-in shower for ease. The fourth floor homes the last of the two bedrooms, a spacious twin bedroom with a sofa and chair, perfect for reading the little ones to sleep, or just that extra space to wind down before bed. The double bedroom next door, although cosy, is brightly lit, with beautiful views through the original miniature window. There is an additional bathroom on this floor with a spacious walk-in shower.

From the garden room you are welcomed into the delightful patio area with 360-degree panoramic views. The log burner is a Remy 1974 equipped with a chimney so you can sit out in all temperatures in a smoke free environment and allows for evenings outside and a chance to gaze at the stars in comfort. From here you can step up to the second patio space with outdoor seating – a great space to dine alfresco. The lawned areas give ample space to run around, sun-bathe or play a game of fetch with your four-legged friends.

This is a lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable. It's remote but just a gentle 20 minute walk into Broughton, which has a couple of good pubs and a wonderful butcher/deli. We got lucky with the weather and enjoyed the outdoor areas with a barbeque and wood burning stove. I imagine it would be very cosy in winter. The only issues wereRead more the temperature of some showers (too hot) and the lack of blinds in the main bedroom. Overall we had an excellent break at Rose Cottage. Hide
