We had a great time at Chestnut Hill Cottage and would book again. Very well located for the town centre , which was why we chose it . The Bitter End pub does great food and is just down the road ! Other good pubs nearby. All dog friendly too ! The house is very comfortable, no problem with parking, and our friends used the recommended parking nearRead moreby. Cockermouth is a very friendly town , and well located for travelling further and enjoying the Lakes. We will be back ! Hide

The cottage is very central to the town, easy to walk to shops and local pub. Garden was a huge disappointment. There was a lot of dead plants and pots just left lying around. Wasnt very inviting to sit out there. Could do with some TLC No internal door shut fully due to roll type latch therefore we struggled to stop the dogs going into rooms we diRead morednt want them in and I guess would not make them private if a group of people stayed. We had a nice week but a few tweaks needed. Hide

An excellent choice for a group/family stay. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Bed linen was a definite delight. For a few hours pottering Cockermouth has some great shops to wander into. For hiking, canoeing, climbing etc. it makes an excellent base for all of these.
