An idyllic rural getaway, this lodge has been tastefully furnished and offers a relaxing holiday for a couple or young family. The stunning valley of Ennerdale makes a fantastic base for keen walkers and mountain climbers. The lodge is situated on a working farm less than half a mile from the village of Ennerdale Bridge. Known for being one of the more remote lakes, the beautiful Ennerdale Water is only 2 miles away. Local activities include horse riding, pony trekking, fishing, karting, bird watching and fell walking, with Pillar, Steeple, High Stile, Great Borne and Red Pike all within 10 miles. The thriving Georgian market town of Cockermouth is just over 10 miles away and has plenty of great pubs and restaurants, or you could head to the Cumbrian coast, with the St Bees Head Heritage Coast (7 miles) within easy reach.
This well-appointed lodge is on the grounds next to the owner’s farmhouse, located on a working farm, with outstanding views. The lodge makes the most of the setting and views with the glass-fronted entrance which leads you straight into the open-plan lounge with kitchen. There is a wall-mounted TV and cosy electric effect log burner, enjoy a night watching your favourite movie or watching the sunset from the patio. The kitchen is well equipped but if you don’t fancy cooking, why not enjoy a meal in one of the pubs in the village. To the rear of the lodge, there is a nice dining area where you can sit down enjoy a good breakfast and make plans for the day ahead! This dining area also converts into a double sofa bed which is suitable for up to two children under the age of 16 years. The shower room completes the ground floor. Head up to the mezzanine bedroom which is in the attic space accessed via a fixed ladder. The bedroom area is cosy, please note that there is limited headroom, and the bed is low to the floor so would not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
Outside there is a pretty lawned garden, this is the owners garden, but you are free to enjoy the space and make the most of the stunning views. There is a private raised patio in front of the lodge which is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine or a morning coffee on a sunny day.
