Located in a quiet 'loop road' with far-reaching views over Ambleside and the Lake District, this ground-floor apartment boasts an enviable position in the heart of the lakes. Ideal for exploring the nearby fells and lakes with Windermere (4.5 miles) and Bowness (7.5 miles) both a short drive to the south, Grasmere 5 miles north and the Langdale Valley 5 miles to the west. Ambleside itself is full of charm, with delightful patisseries, bakeries and bars all within this small town. Why not enjoy your day travelling across the lake with Windermere Lake Cruises or head over to Grasmere to soak up the history of William Wordsworth whilst enjoying the iconic local gingerbread? Fells, tarns and meres are all within reach and any walking adventures are best enjoyed with a refreshing drink at a local inn afterwards.

Entering inside this delightful apartment, you are welcomed into the open-plan living space and instantly taken by the panoramic views. The lounge area offers a comfortable sofa for two, a TV/DVD player and a range of games to entertain on those rainier days. The kitchen comes with high-end appliances and everything you need to rustle up a romantic dinner for two. Enjoy your breakfast at the dining table, where you can plan for your day ahead over a cup of coffee whilst looking across the fells. The cosy bedroom is perfect to rest your head after a day’s walking, with ample storage for all your gear. The bathroom, with its contemporary finishes, makes a great place to soak away those aching muscles in the tub or enjoy a refreshing shower before heading out for the evening.

The cottage was compact but had what we needed for a few nights stay. The bathroom was new and very clean. I feel that the lounge area would benefit from being modernised a bit with a new sofa. The location was 10 mins walk from Ambleside which was great

The property was at the top of a reasonably steep hill but worth the walk from the heart of Ambleside for the back garden view. Kitchen and bathroom beautifully finished and well equipped, out of 7 nights we cooked for 5. We had a very enjoyable stay. We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. Yes, the walk is quite steep, but we managed without a car and especially enjoyed the wonderful views.

Superb apartment with high quality fixtures and fittings, especially the bathroom and kitchen area. Kitchen well stocked with decent saucepans, bakeware and crockery. Could do with kitchen knives, but hey. Amazing view through the patio doors. Parking is a little awkward if you have a large car, like me, and there are others there already. Parked (Read morewith due consideration) off-site, roadside most of the time. Great value for money and will return. Hide

We had a lovely stay at The Sett. The flat is a perfect size for two, with lovely views. The shower pressure is nice and strong, and the table in the living area is a lovely size with comfy chairs/ bench seating. The location is great, on a nice quiet street, but only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside.

This is a lovely small but cosy flat with exceptional views and only a short walk into Ambleside with easy access to walks, bike rides, bars and restaurants. The steep hill may not be suitable for all but the views compensate the effort.

Magnificent window views and a good sitting area shared garden in front . The layout is so good you don't feel it's too small at all; all the appliances in the kitchen are really top end and a pleasure to use, as is the bathroom with its brilliantly designed modern shower. Comfortable cottage which has some nice features particularly the kitchen and bathroom which have high end fittings. Be warned the views are there for a reason, it is up a very steep hill which you may not fancy walking up after an evening in Ambleside
