Located in the delightful hamlet of Far Sawrey, this property has ample opportunity for adventure on your doorstep. Be it walking to nearby lakes and fells, or the neighbouring villages, you are free to wander through the picturesque countryside straight from your front door. Beatrix Potter's former home, Hill Top, is only 1 mile away and makes for a great day out whatever the weather. Footpaths and roads lead directly from the property to the lakeshore and ferry terminal, connecting to the charming town of Bowness. The nearby village of Hawkshead (less than 3 miles away) also has plenty to offer, from local cafes and bakeries to shops and pubs. Within walking distance, Claife Heights, (1 mile) beckons—a National Trust-owned vantage point providing unparalleled panoramas across Windermere. A stone’s throw from the house itself is the quaint local dog-friendly pub, which offers crackling fires, local ales, and seasonal delights.

Entering into the property through the terrace door you are welcomed into the spacious kitchen. A real foodie’s haven, this cook’s kitchen is well-equipped and offers everything you need to cook up a storm for the family, as well as a cosy wood burner. Enjoy breakfast at the round table overlooking the garden where you can plan your day’s events. Further into this wonderfully quirky house, you can find the open slate-floored snug area, with another wood burner and comfy seating, where you are free to enjoy a good book from the well-stocked bookcase and a glass of wine by the fire. Next door the lounge offers itself up as a great social space for the whole family to get together for games night. Take stock of your surroundings with the original quirky arts and crafts window whilst snuggling down into the sumptuous sofas. There is also a spacious downstairs utility room with a separate entrance for muddy boots, which contains plentiful drying racks for wet coats and a dog-washing sink. Heading up the stairs to the first floor you are drawn instantly to the plethora of amazing artwork, paintings and oddities as you are led to the first of the three bedrooms. Tucked away in the corner you can find the pretty master bedroom with a super-king sleigh bed, offering stunning views to the hills beyond, with an en-suite bathroom where you can revitalise yourself with ease after a day on the fells. Opposite the stairs is a charmingly cosy king-sized bedroom with warm and sunny tones, the perfect place to wake up and start your day. Down the passage is the family bathroom, a feast for the eyes with its bright tones; a room where contemporary function meets original period charm. The colourful third bedroom is a very spacious twin beds that can be converted to a king-size on request and offers stunning views from every window. Not only a comfortable room but also practical, there is flexible sleeping available with the trundle day bed.

Outside you are free to explore the 7 acres of private woodland, with a bench at the top for tired legs, have an evening gin and tonic on the upper terrace while watching the sunset, or simply sit out at the front and dine alfresco. Enjoy this wonderfully manicured space with your four-legged friends and watch the children play.

Beautiful house which was well equipped and tastefully decorated with some amazing artwork. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed. Lovely new oven and induction hob. Fabulous property; lovely quiet but convenient location Very clean, comfortable. A lot of care gone into the decoration and furnishing of the cottage. The kitchen is really well-stocked equipment-wise, plus good quality oven which is easy to use. Never have to travel far for good food or entertainment ie: girls went kayaking on Windermere. A beautifully restored 1790 house that offers every amenity but retains the feel of a classic home. The location in Far Sawrey was tranquil and quiet but so close to Hilltop and Hawkshead.
