Ideally situated in a quiet cobbled courtyard in the centre of the idyllic village of Hawkshead. Hawkshead is in the heart of Beatrix Potter country and is close to many of the famous sights such as Hill Top and the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Also nearby is the Grammar School where William Wordsworth was a pupil. The village itself is only a few miles from both Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, where you can enjoy boat trips and many water sports. For hillwalkers, the Coniston mountains with their fascinating copper-mining history, provide a range of climbs and there is walking and biking from the doorstep, as well as mountain biking trails in the neighbouring Grizedale Forest. The village itself is full of charm, with quaint shops and cafes and a choice of traditional pubs serving lunch and evening meals.

Stepping into the front door, you are welcomed into the immaculate open-plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen is amply equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm and make clearing away a breeze. Enjoy a social evening meal at the dining table before retiring in the lounge. With comfortable and cosy furnishing, you are free to spend your evenings relaxing in front of the wood burning stove whilst catching up on your favourite series. Downstairs on the lower ground floor is the king-size bedroom, a spacious room with its own private bathroom across the hallway. The bathroom is an oasis of traditional calm, with a roll-top bath and overhead shower. Adjacent to this is the utility space with a washing machine, freezer and overhead clothes line and airer. On the second floor is the double bedroom, another gorgeously cosy space, with ample storage and its own private shower room.

Outside the property, there is highly sought private parking for one car, meaning you are free to enjoy the many scenic walks straight from your door.

Lovely cottage, secluded and clean and beautifully furnished. Some visitors might find the access a little tricky in a big car and also there are a lot of steps for anyone who is infirm. We would definitely come again. Thank you.

Meadow view is a lovely cottage in an ideal situation being in the centre of Hawkshead village. Comfortable beds, ample heating and everything one would need in terms of kitchen utensils. Also some local goodies left which was a bonus (tea, fresh coffee, biscuits, chocolate).
