Situated in Millom close to the Lake District National Park, this region offers a more tranquil escape compared to some of the bustling tourist hotspots, yet it boasts equally breathtaking landscapes. Black Combe, 5 miles away, presents a challenging hike that rewards trekkers with awe-inspiring panoramas. On clear days, the vista extends all the way to the Isle of Man or Blackpool Tower. For those with an affinity for the coast, the splendid beach at Haverigg is 1 mile away, featuring a nature reserve, children's play areas, and ample sand dunes to explore. The local area offers a wide array of activities, from exhilarating experiences like a day hacking on the beach with heavy horses, dog sled mushing, jet skiing, water skiing, to the serene pleasures of paddle boarding. Should you be enticed by the more renowned spots of the lakes, Coniston Water is easily reachable within a 30-minute drive.

Heading into the property you'll discover generously proportioned rooms with lofty ceilings. The contemporary, uncluttered design sets the tone as you step into the living and dining space. There's ample room for a comfortable corner sofa, a traditional wooden dining table, and a functional workstation. Progressing onward, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen with sleek, up-to-date fittings and a breakfast nook, perfect for observing the culinary expert at work while enjoying a chat over a glass of wine. Upstairs, a family bathroom awaits, complete with a bathtub and an overhead rainfall shower. Adjacent to it, the first bedroom features a double bed, with ample space to relax. The master bedroom offers both a double and a single bed, along with its own TV and further views over toward Black Combe and the fells beyond.
Outside, accessed from either the kitchen or the side road to the rear, you can enjoy al-fresco dining on the picnic table. With ample storage for bikes on request and the perfect place to wash those muddy boots and paws.

Lovely house with a dog-safe garden. Our dog enjoyed Haverigg beach every day and we all enjoyed a sunny day on the Ravenglass railway. Due to the houses location we got to see relatives weve not been able to visit for a number of years! Very handy for the local shops and good dog walks.

Perfect for families with dog. The cottage was great, very well equipped, it had everything we needed, including an air fryer. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and the shower is great. Location is good but not very close to the Lakeside, if you want to go to Windermere check the map as it's +/-40 min driving. But there are some arRead moreeas around to explore. We cycled to Millom Beach and it's beautiful. There's a small beach which is a hidden gem. We all had a lovely time. Hide

This a great place to stay to enjoy the beauty of the Lake District. It's nicely positioned on the edge of Millom and is a short walk to Hodbarrow Lagoon and Nature reserve. We walked Scafell Pike while we were there which is about a 50 minute drive away. We can recommend The King William IV Inn for good food and choice of beers.
