The bustling market town of Keswick is less than 2 miles away; take the footpath into the town which boasts a great selection of independent shops and eateries to explore including a celebrated bookshop and seasonal Victorian fayre and Christmas market. There are some lovely walks around Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden or for the more adventurous walkers, why not venture up Skiddaw? Whinlatter Forest, 3.5 miles away, offers a wealth of adventurous bike trails, while excellent road cycling can be enjoyed along the Honister, Newlands and Whinlatter passes. Use the launch which is a short walk away to get around the local area and take in the spectacular views around the lake.
