Lying at the heart of the beautiful Lyth Valley – a stunning part of the Lake District famous for its damson crop – this bright and welcoming lodge makes a fresh and cosy getaway for walkers, climbers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring an unforgettable part of Cumbria. A 2-mile walk will take you to the stunning Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve, which occupies 100 hectares and offers an array of flora and fauna across its ancient limestone pavements. The village of Levens is to the south, home to the magnificent stately home of Levens Hall (4 miles), with the National Trust’s magical estate at Sizergh just a mile further on. Heading east, the glorious Windermere is within easy reach, with Blackwell, the famous Arts and Crafts house, overlooking the nearest part of the shore (7 miles). Other Windermere-based attractions include the Jetty Museum, Brockhole and Stott Park Bobbin Mill, all within 15 miles.
Entering this welcoming retreat, the main open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has been tastefully decorated and furnished to provide a cosy space for you both to relax in after a fabulous day exploring the Lake District. Featuring wooden flooring and a timber-beamed ceiling, the cheerful lounge has plenty of seating, a TV and picturesque country views. There’s a lovely dining table to the side, perfect for sharing romantic meals which you can rustle up in the light, fully equipped and stylishly arranged kitchen. The lodge also features a sweet and relaxing bedroom, decorated in calming neutral tones, with a comfortable double bed, alongside a refreshing shower room with an invigorating shower and WC.
Patio doors lead out from the lodge into a charming patio space with garden furniture, offering a tranquil spot for a morning coffee, or for sampling the locally produced damson gin in the evenings. You will also have access to the garden and orchard.
