Superbly located 300 metres from the centre of the Cumbrian town of Kendal, this is a fantastic base for a family or couple keen to explore the Lake District National Park. Kendal has a lot to offer visitors with its twice-weekly market, many eateries and an array of cobbled historic yards, with a good selection of independent shops. For a day out, take the local train to Staveley, where you can sample delicious drinks from the Hawkshead brewery. Alternatively, visit the famous Lake Windermere (9.5 miles), where you can try your hand at sailing and kayaking or just relax at one of the many waterside tea rooms and cafes. Being in the heart of the Lake District, there are walking and cycling trails too numerous to list, many of which begin from your doorstep.
With direct access from the pavement, step inside, and the cottage consists of a cosy open-plan lounge and dining area with comfortable seating and exposed wooden beams overhead. The kitchen is located just off this space, down two steps – a bright and contemporary space. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The double room is decked out in soothing, neutral tones, while the colourful king-size is made up of zip-and-link beds which can be split into twins on request at the time of booking. If you fancy a relaxing soak, the bathroom is light and airy with a feature exposed brick wall and a shower over the bath.
While the property has no outdoor space of its own, the town centre is just metres away, and there are plenty of open spaces by the river and parks within half a mile, should you wish to explore.
