An extremely spacious, two-storey semi-detached farmhouse, peacefully situated 1 mile from Staveley and less than 5 miles from lively Bowness-on-Windermere, this property is ideal for an extended group of family or friends exploring the magical landscapes of the Lake District. For walkers, head 5 miles north to Kentmere, where the route towards the Kentmere Reservoir meanders through one of the Lake District’s most beautiful valleys – you might well spot birds of prey. If the lakes are calling, Bowness has several beguiling options for getting out on the water, whether by ferry or cruiser, while Waterhead, just over 7 miles away, has motorboat hire as well as canoes, kayaks and paddleboards for exploration at a more sedate pace. And after an active day, pretty Staveley village, less than a mile from the property, has several dining-out options as well as a butcher and a baker.

This elegant farmhouse offers generous accommodation to a large group and so is just right for special occasions and get-togethers. Two spacious lounges mean that an extended party can spread out and relax. Both lounges are spacious and inviting, with bay windows, comfortable sofa and armchair seating, and feature fireplaces with wood burners to ensure cosy gatherings. One lounge has a Smart TV for easy evening entertainment, while the other is perfect for reading or games – this room has a French door leading out into the garden. The dining room is particularly grand; here, a generous oval table and chairs seat ten for convivial meals, the scene framed by a large window with leafy views. A farmhouse kitchen with a classic AGA range cooker and a further dining table and chairs for four completes the ground-floor rooms. Up on the first floor, you’ll find all five bedrooms. Here, a master bedroom has a king-size four-poster bed, a dressing room with a small double sofa bed and a large en-suite shower room. Two further bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms – a king-size room and a super king-size room with zip-and-link beds which can be presented as singles on request. There are also two handsome double bedrooms – one with a four-poster bed and the other with it's own sink unit. Finally, there’s a bathroom with both a bath and an overhead shower.

Outdoors, a large, wall-enclosed, lawn garden with trees and mature planting wraps around the house. Guests are warmly invited to make use of the garden furniture and BBQ, to enjoy al fresco meals with glorious views over farmland and countryside beyond.

  • 5 bedrooms – 2 king-size, 2 double, 1 zip-and-link super-king (which can be presented as twin beds on request)
  • 4 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower over bath, and WC; 3 en-suite shower rooms with showers and WCs
  • AGA range cooker, additional electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer - please be advised a washing machine is available on site, access must be requested from the owner during your stay
  • Wood burners in both lounges
  • Smart TV
  • As this is a working farm, please ensure dogs are under control at all times
  • Wall-enclosed garden with large lawn, garden furniture and BBQ
  • Ample private parking
  • Shop 0.5 miles, pub 1 mile
  • Please note – guests are respectfully requested not to enter the farmyard

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful setting and good location to travel into Windermere and Kendal. Due to time of year did not try local walks but I am sure they would be good.
