This well-proportioned twin-level apartment is in the charming, central Lake District town of Ambleside. Sleeping up to ten people across five bedrooms, this apartment makes an ideal holiday home for extended family get-togethers and holidays, and it is also the ideal property for groups of friends for reunions. Historically, this apartment is of some significance as it was the former gallery space of the Heaton Cooper family of artists. Occupying the second and third floors of a Lakeland stone building, The Loft is conveniently located for Ambleside’s many attractions and shops, which are just a three minute walk from this large property. Pubs and restaurants are also in close proximity, one of which - the very popular Lily Bar - is right on your doorstep. The town is just a mile north of Lake Windermere. Fantastic Lake District walks are easily reached from the apartment as are all the water sports the lake has to offer.

The hub of the property is the former gallery space which has been converted into a modern, light and airy combined open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. Retaining some of its original features, this room has windows on two sides as well as two skylights which make for a naturally well-lit space that also affords lovely views over Ambleside and to the fells beyond. From many of the property’s windows, guests can glimpse bird’s eye views of the Lakeland fells. The apartment’s first floor comprises of two bedrooms - one double and one king-size zip-and-link, which can be split into twin beds. There’s also a utility room on this floor in addition to a shower room, and a separate WC. A staircase takes guests up to the second floor of the apartment, where you’ll find that fantastic open-plan living area. There are also the final three bedrooms - one is a king-size zip-and-link for flexible sleeping arrangements, the fourth bedroom is a double, and the fifth bedroom is also a double but has a Velux window letting in yet more natural light. All these rooms have the use of two stylish shower rooms.

While the property itself does not have its own outdoor area, the Lake District National Park is under half a mile away.

This is the fourth time we've stayed at the Loft in Ambleside and have already booked for next New Year. Location, value for money. Size and comfort are the reasons why we keep coming back. It feels like are holiday home. And would definitely recommend the Loft to anyone.Thank you.

Property in a great location plenty of bars, pubs & restaurants. Right in the centre so all amenities at hand. All rooms are airy & spacious, very clean & plenty of crockery, utensils, cooking facilities. Two large fridges and a large freezer good for large groups we were only 6 but 10 would find it very comfortable.

Needs clear sign outside and that you have to go upstairs,as at first we were trying key lock down stairs.
