Take in the idyllic Lakeland ambience and scenery from your apartment base in the heart of Kendal, surrounded by boutiques, restaurants, bars and cafes. Culture lovers can wander the Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the museum, go to music events, live shows, comedy gigs and movies at the Brewery Arts Centre, shop at the twice-weekly market and explore the cobbled 18th-century yards – all within half a mile of this holiday home. Immerse yourself in the heritage of Sizergh Castle (4.5 miles) and Levens Hall (6 miles) boasting stunning 17th-century furnishings and gardens. Ascend Castle Hill to discover the ruins of Kendal Castle (1 mile on foot) including wonderful views over the fells, and take a trip to Windermere (9 miles) for activities and adventures on the water.

Climb 13 steps to reach the entrance hall with storage space for coats, boots and dog leads. At the end of the hallway is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room, providing a light and warm space to unwind following a day of activity; sink into the comfy seating (complete with one sofa bed option) in front of the TV, with the flame effect electric fire adding atmosphere. Rustle up a home-cooked meal in the beamed kitchen and eat at the six-seater dining table. There are two bedrooms – one double and one zip-and-link king-size (available as a twin room on request). There is also a family bathroom with a bath and a walk-in shower, and a handy utility room too.

Although there is no outside space attached to the property, the riverside is just 200 metres away.

The Loft was stylish, clean and welcoming and the communication we had with David was excellent. There was a welcome pack with all sorts of goodies left for us to enjoy on arrival which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, due to one of our dogs becoming very poorly, we had to cut our visit short and David was kind enough to follow up with a tRead moreext message asking how our dog was recovering which was again much appreciated.
