Explore an area once described by William Wordsworth as "the most loveliest spot that man hath found", from the comfort of this conveniently-located two-bedroom cottage. Grasmere pays floral homage to its most famous past resident in its Daffodil and Storytellers Gardens; these along with a selection of restaurants, bars, and shops (including a world-famous and award-winning gingerbread shop dating back to 1854) are all within 300 metres of the property. Walks and cycle paths around the lake can be accessed in under half a mile, and pass by the Faeryland attraction that’s always a hit with the kids. You’ll also find the National Trust’s Allan Bank and Grasmere, and Town End within half a mile – a chocolate box area of the village, where you’ll find the Wordsworth Museum and the poet’s former home, Dove Cottage. Rydal Water can be reached in 2 miles and there’s a bus stop right across the road for adventures further afield.
The ground floor accommodates a charming lounge/dining room with cushy seating where you can relax in front of the TV or plan your day's adventures, as well as a dining table seating four, with views of the courtyard. The kitchen has further seating in the form of stools at a breakfast bar and opens onto the garden via patio doors. This retreat also offers a lovely family bathroom, as well as two bedrooms – a double with its own TV and a twin room. Both are light and airy with plenty of storage space for all your belongings.
Enclosed by fencing and walls, the courtyard garden is decked and has outdoor furniture making it a pleasant spot to take the fresh Cumbrian air along with your favourite tipple.
