Studded amongst the pretty streets of Keswick, this historic abode sleeps 12 guests and is a marvellous setting for any big celebration or family gathering. Delving further into this sprawling market town will reward you with a whole host of attractions and experiences. Stop and snap some mementoes of the gorgeous views as you take a stroll, or embrace your inner culture vulture and pay a visit to the museum and art gallery. The renowned Theatre by the Lake is one of Britain’s most remote theatres, a destination that will prove very tempting to your budding thespians. Derwentwater proudly holds the title of ‘Queen of the Lakes’, and it is easy to see why as you glide across the water on a launch service. The dramatic scenery is a sight to behold, especially if you venture to Skiddaw, 5 miles away, discovering the majestic peak that looms over Keswick. For those interested in an active holiday, the lake is an excellent destination for water sports.

Warm, welcoming and spacious throughout, the property dates back to 1884 and is brimming with Victorian Lakeland charm from the moment you enter the vestibule. The heart of the home is the lounge area, a quirky room filled with natural light that floods in through the bay windows, illuminating the industrial artwork and comfortable furniture. It is an ideal space to curl up with your hot chocolate and relax in front of the open fire. A games room provides entertainment via the football table and Sonos speaker, so you can play your favourite tunes as you challenge the family to a few games. There is a cosy snug if you feel like grabbing a moment's peace to read a book in front of another open fire. When it’s time to eat, you’ll be truly spoiled in the kitchen thanks to the array of appliances including a De’Longhi coffee machine - a sheer delight for coffee lovers. Upstairs, the bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors, providing flexible sleeping arrangements and lots of choices when it comes to bathing and showering. Five of the bedrooms boast an en-suite bathroom or shower room, and there is an additional shower room on the first floor.

Set in an elevated position, the views from your front garden extend down the residential surroundings with glimpses of the fells beyond. You’ll be able to perch on the garden furniture with an evening drink to watch the sun slip from the sky, perhaps tucking into some of the goodies from your welcome pack. To the rear is a self-contained area with parking spaces.

The property is in an excellent location being close to the town centre and the Fitz park. The lake is in easy walking distance and there are one or two good longer walks from the property. It accommodated 6 adults and three children comfortably. We would take a holiday there again.

Excellent location and great for large groups and a bonus for all rooms to be en-suite with TVs. Another positive is the private parking. We were a group of 12 with dogs and there was plenty of room, the two living rooms gave us space to spread out in the evenings after returning from the town.

The location of this property is excellent. The parking for four cars is great. We loved the views of the mountains. We all enjoyed the table football and the two lounges, space to relax. We did feel that it was overall a bit tired and that the kitchen really needs a deep clean. Upon arrival there was a very strong smell of bleach that was not veRead morery welcoming! Hide

Lovely house in a perfect location. A bathroom for each bedroom which was great for our party of 11 however the kitchen was quite small although this didnt bother us as we ate out as there were lots of nice restaurants within walking distance.

Fell House is in an ideal location for Keswick with easy access to the town centre and shops; it also gives almost traffic-free and rapid access to the park with its very good facilities which is ideal for allowing children to go independently. The dedicated parking for 4 cars is a real bonus in Keswick. Bedroom accommodation is very good and flexiRead moreble for a large group, two lounges give valuable options and the kitchen / dining room, while a little cramped for a large group, is well equipped. The views of the surrounding fells are great, with the outlook to Cat Bells seen from the kitchen early in the morning quite outstanding. We had a great week and hope to be back next year. Hide
