The village itself has pubs and a coffee shop  meaning you won’t have to travel far to wet your whistle. Join one of the many walking routes right from the doorstep such as Glenderaterra Valley which leads towards Keswick, or hike the fell Blencathra. The shops, restaurants and tourist attractions of Keswick are 4 miles away and history buffs will love a visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle (2.5 miles). Try your hand at water sports at Ullswater (11.5 miles) or admire the magnificent Aira Force Waterfall and neighbouring nature trails (9.5 miles).

Hang coats and walking boots in the hallway before heading through to the fantastic kitchen/diner with original sandstone floor, Belfast sink and wood burner. The kitchen has all the amenities required for a self-catering stay including a induction hob, electric oven, fridge and a dishwasher. After you’ve cooked a delicious meal, take a seat at the dining table in front of the warming wood burner. An adjacent utility room houses a washer/dryer, microwave and a freezer. The lounge has a further wood burner as well as comfortable seating, a TV with Freeview and a DVD player, ideal for resting up after a busy day exploring the area. Upstairs is a double bedroom with stunning views of St Johns in the Vale and a TV and a twin bedroom which looks out towards Blencathra, also with a TV. The family bathroom has a roll-top bath, ideal for soaking away the day, with a shower over.

Doors from the lounge lead out onto the pretty, mature, garden. The garden is enclosed and has stunning views across to the fells, St John’s in the Vale, and surrounding countryside. A patio area is a real sun trap and has a dining set perfect for al fresco meals while the sun sets. You can easily walk to the pub which is around 500 metres away.

Super little cottage with amazing views and everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. It is also very close to a couple of great pubs serving delicious meals. The local cafe in The Village Hall also had delicious food and was very welcoming.
