This cottage is beautiful, located in the centre of the village but was exceptionally quiet. Cottage is tastefully furnished with a well equipped kitchen. There are two sitting rooms one if you want to watch tv and one if you just want peace and quiet this room also has a dining table. The bedrooms and two bathrooms are lovely, one bathroom with Read morewalk in shower is en suite to the master bedroom on the top floor. Will definitely be staying again. Hide

This is a delightful cottage and truly had a feeling of 'home from home'. Very well equipped and comfortable. A short walk to the main road brings you to the Cavendish Arms that serves very good food. Highly recommend May Cottage. Keep in mind, though, that there are two May Cottages in Cartmel and this one is not identified on Google Maps yet.

Had a fab stay n May Cottagewhilst the races was on, very handy indeed for the racecourse! Cottage is nice and cosy, bedrooms and bathrooms very nice, kitchen could do with few extra utensils and more wine/beer glasses other than it was sufficient, also there was nothing to clean surfaces with which we like to do on our departure, the christmas decRead mores need taking down, think someones forgot, other tan that, no complaints, having booked again already for next year's races says it all ! Unfortunately, paying a premium price means I would expect a premium cottage; it is not. Needed cleaning before we could settle in. Christmas decorations still evident in May!!. Clocks all still on winter time, indicative of the last time it was cleaned. Welcome pack non existent. Info pack sparse. Sofa filthy. Fittings tired and flimsy. Cooking poRead morets old and need replacing. Drinking glasses, not 2 the same. Huge disappointment. If I had more than 500 characters I could go on. Hide

Brillant cottage, loved our stay, 3 generations all enjoyed + choc lab! All essential items were there along with welcome gift. Cottage was situatted between the race course and cavendish arms, nothing to far away in Cartmel! Just lovely, and we had wonderful weather to go with it! Will definitely return to this property.
