We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rose Cottage despite the classic Lakeland weather for a large part of our stay. We have stayed in these 3 properties in Lamplugh as a large family once a year, for over 16 years now. They are great for a big family get together, beautiful safe gardens with lots of places to play - paddling in the stream, the hidden garden and massive lawns, also great to relax in with the rear garden being really nice and sheltered. The 2 laRead morerger houses connect together which is really convenient, then the smaller one is separate. All are spacious, comfortable and homely, nothing to fancy so you can all relax rather than worrying about lots of fancy ornaments etc. A great location in a quiet part of the Lakes. Can't wait to be back again next year. Hide

Lovely cottage - very clean and had everything we needed, perfect for our group holiday (our friends had booked Low Millgillhead cottage next door so we were all able to be accommodated fairly close together). Good value and great location for fells and lakes. We enjoyed the coal fire. Heating and shower were good and kitchen well equipped. Not spacious, but comfortable and good for the price. Welcome gifts were appreciated.

This is a lovely property in a peaceful location. It was really easy to get to beautiful parts of the lakes, like Loweswater (10min drive), Buttermere (30min drive). If you're into Wainwright bagging, we walked to three summits directly from the door. The garden is a lovely size and secure for dogs. The kitchen is very well equipped. Perhaps we missed some descriptive features when we were searching, as we feel the points mentioned above rather detracted from what was, overall, a very pleasant visit. We chose it, as we have a dear friend in the area who was unable to accommodate us.

We loved staying in this little cottage. The location was superb - it felt really peaceful and secluded, yet it was really easy to get to the local fells and further afield.
