The property is set in an ideal spot in the heart of Keswick, within easy reach of a fantastic choice of great restaurants, pubs and shops, an Art Deco cinema and the Theatre by the Lake. The town is home to a number of popular attractions, including Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Keswick Climbing Wall and Outdoor Adventure Centre and the Puzzling Place. The area has numerous glorious trails for walkers and cyclists to follow, with nearby peaks including Skiddaw (6 miles), Helvellyn (8 miles) and Grisedale Pike (5 miles). Keswick is also ideally situated for exploring the spellbinding lakes of Derwentwater (1 mile), Thirlmere (6 miles), Buttermere (10.5 miles) and Bassenthwaite Lake (4.5 miles).

A step leads up and into this house which is entered via a beautiful Art Deco-style porch. Inside, you will find the fresh and elegant main lounge, which features a lovely large bay window allowing the light to flood in. With comfortable seating, coal effect gas fire and TV with Blu-Ray, this is a lovely space for you to unwind in. The property has a second lounge, again with plenty of seating, as well as a Smart TV and Blu-Ray. Exploring further, the delightful kitchen/diner retains original exposed beams and makes a great space for you all to gather and enjoy a family meal. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob and eye-level fan oven and grill, a large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and Bluetooth speaker. There’s also a ground-floor shower room and separate WC, as well as utility space housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of storage space for coats and muddy boots. From the kitchen you can step through to the bright and relaxing conservatory – a lovely space for snuggling up with a good book or a morning coffee. Going upstairs, there are three tastefully decorated bedrooms on the first floor, all with ample storage space. The first is a king-size room to the front of the house and features a USB charging point and a bay window offering a view out over the rooftops of Keswick. The twin room has a similar view, and finally a second king-size room is to the rear of the house has views out towards Skiddaw and Latrigg. This floor also has a stylish family bathroom complete with a bath, a curved shower enclosure with a power shower and a WC. There’s also a separate WC.

Heading out from the conservatory, a step leads down into the back garden which features raised flower beds and a patio with plenty of outdoor furniture, making this a lovely spot for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. There’s also secure bike storage in the garage and ample car parking space for up to three small-to-medium cars (if parked blocking each other).

Great stay in this lovely large house. Perfect location in the centre of Keswick and close to a lovely park. Managed to get three cars on the driveway too. Would stay again.

Second time at Kildonan House in Keswick New year 2025-26.Weather dry frosty mornings but the house was always warm, and cosy.Driveway at side of house an absolute bonus as parking around Keswick is hard to locate.Keswick town center no more than 10 minutes walk.House was well equipped and provided for.Would recommend for a group of 4+ people.

This is a lovely property for visiting Keswick and the area. Ideally very close to Keswick town and the lake and local amenities. It is clean and comfortable and we are looking forward to staying again next year.

Very comfortable house.Parking spaces in driveway an absolute bonus.Within short walking distance of Keswick town.Weather was not the best,New Year 2024,but house was always warm.Would definitely recommend.

Our 13th stay at this lovely house. We love it and dont want to leave. Although there are only 2 of us we appreciate the space that this house gives us. We love sitting in the conservatory in the evening having a chat. Near to town. Comfortable. Well equipped. What more could we want.

The cottage is well located for walking into the centre of Keswick on a quiet road. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed.
