This gorgeous cottage, within walking distance of Keswick’s town centre, sleeps four guests. The property has a quiet setting and has some fabulous walks directly from its front door. Set out on foot to explore the wooded path that winds its way to the summit of Latrigg Fell, or if you really feel like challenging yourself, stride on further to discover the dizzy heights of Skiddaw. Alternatively, enjoy a gentle 1-mile woodland stroll into Keswick, where you’ll find a fantastic choice of eateries, plus a wonderful museum, art gallery and theatre. From Keswick, you can board one of the launches to glide across Derwentwater, where you can hop on and off for a picnic, waterfall walk or afternoon tea.

The warm and inviting cottage features a spacious open-plan lounge/diner, with beautiful exposed beams and a roaring wood burner. Enjoy cosy nights in together, watching TV or planning the next day’s itinerary around the dining table. The modern kitchen has everything you need to prepare a tasty meal for your fellow guests, including an electric oven, separate induction hob, microwave, wine cooler, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The chic breakfast bar is the perfect place to sit with a morning coffee or socialise whilst the meal is being prepared. The delightful conservatory is filled with natural light and makes a lovely spot to enjoy brunch whilst admiring the distant view of the Lakeland fells. Also, on the ground floor you’ll find a handy utility/drying room, with a washing machine/dryer, overhead airer, iron and sink. There’s also a desk area next to the window, if you need to catch up on some emails during your stay. Upstairs, discover two tasteful bedrooms. The first is a king-size, decorated in calming tones for a relaxing night’s rest and featuring an elegant chaise lounge next to the window. The room has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. The second bedroom is a super king-size and is also decorated in neutral tones. On the first floor there’s the family bathroom, with a WC and rainfall-style shower.

Heading outside, there’s a private south-facing patio with outdoor furniture, overlooking the gardens and with views of the fells in the distance – the ideal place to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day. Off-road parking is available for one car.

Very well set out property in a great location. Furnished to a very high standard with an impressive lounge and access to outside space. Well equipped for walkers whatever the weather with a full laundry and boot room.

5* property if you want peace and quiet but not very far from town centre which is handy. Pity it doesnt allow dogs

Our second visit to this great property, which is large, spacious and comfortable. Good parking and excellent bathrooms. The welcome tray had changed from our previous visit, no longer a bottle of fizz waiting, instead a jar of chutney, tea bags, coffee pods and UHT milk sticks. We walked most days, often in the rain and the large hallway anRead mored utility off the hall were fantastic for kit storage and drying kit. Its so nice to be able to dry kit with ease, in a dedicated space. Similarly in the bathrooms, towel rails which can be switched on and off on demand are a real bonus. Walking distance to town about 20 minutes by the roadway, cutting through by the leisure centre if the woodland path is too wet. It took about 45 minutes to walk to Castlerigg from the property via the old railway line. The road to the property (as well as the woodland path) are unlit and the road also iced-up quickly on cooler nights. If youre walking to the property after dark a good torch is useful. Keswick seemed calmer than when we visited in high season, but it was still very busy. We enjoyed the Christmas lights. Hide

Lovely property in a great location. Could not fault the cottage at all. We had everything we needed and more. The walk into Keswick is on a pretty lane which starts from the edge of the property. Magnolia is a first class holiday home. From the moment we pulled into the driveway,we knew it was something special. We booked this as a treat for my mum who turned 80 this week as a complete surprise. We turned up and she burst into tears as it was all so beautiful. They loved their big room with massive en-suite. We loved having breakfast in the conservatory and watching the rabbits as we did so. The coffee machine was a real treat. An amazing autumn holiday in beautiful Magnolia cottage! Such a warm and cosy cottage with lovely views from the living room and conservatory. The location is excellent for visiting lots of fantastic places in the Lakes! Only a few minutes drive into Keswick and walking around beautiful Derwentwater. We will definitely return!

Wow! What an amazing property. It was perfect for our family of four. We made good use of the space as the weather wasn't the best. We especially loved the conservatory as it meant we were still able to enjoy the outdoors and the lovely view, even if the weather wasn't great. I was delighted with my stay at Magnolia. What a gorgeous property in a beautiful setting, it did not disappoint. Whoever does the house keeping is first class as the place was immaculate. The location was ideal for walking into Keswick. I would most definitely book again.

Lovely clean well appointed apartment. Good quality appliances in the kitchen if you are self catering. Both bedrooms are spacious and spotless and finished to a high level. The living room and conservatory are both lovely and full of period character. Use of the private south facing patio is great for evening drinks. Lovely house, tucked away in a secluded position on the edge of Keswick. Weve stayed here before, and thoroughly enjoyed it again. The house has a lot of space, and we enjoyed the footpath down to Keswick - 20 minutes down to Fitz Park and then into Keswicks centre.

We enjoyed our stay at Magnolia. The property is in a beautiful location situated below Latrigg. It has lovely gardens and views. The property was very clean and comfortable and parking at the property was very straightforward. The walk to Keswick was around 25 minutes (there is a path which is quicker than the road, but gets muddy in places duringRead more wet weather).
