Savour your location in the quiet village of Applethwaite yet enjoy being only 2 miles from the bustling market town of Keswick. Here, eateries, watering holes and much more awaits. The perfect spot for a rainy day, Keswick has museums, a swimming pool and attractions such as Puzzling Place to keep you entertained. Hire boats to explore Derwentwater or hop on a cruise for a leisurely day. For a day of hiking, follow the Coledale Horseshoe which starts 3.5 miles away in Braithwaite and winds its way for 9.5 miles across the Wainwright Fells. Panoramic views will take your breath away and there are many wonderful picnic spots where you can sit and refuel.

Unload the car and step inside via the rear of the property to make yourself at home. Leave outerwear in the porch and freshen up in the handily positioned shower room before heading inside to the rest of the home. Boasting spectacular views, the open-plan lounge/diner has a wood burner so you can stay toasty whilst playing board games or snuggling up with a book. With a smart TV, stereo and CD player, enjoy nights in together with plenty to keep you entertained when night falls and the views of The Jaws of Borrowdale and Scafell Pike disappear. Before serving up at the dining table which seats six, head through to the kitchen to cook and find an electric hob and oven with grill, a dishwasher, washing machine, under-counter fridge, under-counter freezer and microwave. The first of three bedrooms resides on this floor and is a pretty double with splashes of colour. Completing this floor is a bathroom with shower over the bath with handrails, and a separate WC. Climb the stairs and tread the walkway which sits in the eaves of the cottage and looks down to the living space, before finding two twin bedrooms, both with skylights and black-out blinds. Take care of the sloping ceilings on this floor.

Spend time outside, enjoy drinks on the balcony and head down to the garden when you fancy a change of scenery. Descend 20 steps and follow the walkway to find your private, decked seating area where you can dine alfresco. There is bike storage which is shared with the cottage below and works on a first come, first served basis. You will need to provide your own lock. There is off-road parking for three cars at the far side of the parking area.

My family and I have been coming to this cottage for over twenty years; it is lovely and peaceful with a wonderful view which is what I want from a place to stay in.

This is one of the loveliest spots in the Lake District, with stunning views, and ideally placed being convenient for walks from the door and only 5 minutes from Keswick with all its facilities. Out standing, any pictures does not give it justice. We had a GREAT week, we were sad to come Back home, but work wouldn't be happy. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely stunning views. We had beautiful weather, it was so wonderful to simply sit gazing at the scenery. Excellent location. Away from the busy streets of Keswick on a quiet road with little traffic. The apartment kitchen was very well equipped, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with comfy beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay in the upper house which had everything our family group of six needed. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had magnificent views. We especially loved the location which is close to many superb fell walks yet a short journey to Keswick. We hope to return and highly recommend this cottage.

We enjoyed our stay here. The views from the sitting room are marvellous! And the location was peaceful but also great for getting to various places. Lovely flat, well appointed. Super location. You have to be careful not to make too much noise for the downstairs flat which made us a bit paranoid. Had everything we needed and beautiful changing view everyday. Big spiders (5 in a week) but can't be helped in the autumn and more than worth it!

The cottage is warm and cosy, with fantastic views of Keswick, Derwent water and surrounding hills. In the foothills of majestic Skiddaw, it is well equipped with helpful information on surrounding places of interest and local walks. We valued the choice of games for those wet weather days. We absolutely loved staying here. The location is fairly central and near by to what we wanted to do. The views are incredible even in the rain! This truly was a magnificent place to stay.

We had a delightful stay in this well equipped and spacious cottage. The layout in the cottage was perfect and the views absolutely stunning! The beds were comfortable, especially the double bed. We loved the fact that we were so close to beautiful walks in the area. We definitely recommend staying in this cottage.
