Set in the thriving market town of Keswick, this holiday home is perfectly placed for sporty guests and families who enjoy heritage attractions and stunning natural landscapes. Head for Keswick marina (0.5 miles) and cruise Derwentwater, or circle the perimeter on a 10-mile wildlife trail through wooded areas where you may encounter curious wildlife. For loftier hikes, try Skiddaw (4 miles), one of England’s highest mountains. On rest days, Keswick is packed with family-fun from the Theatre by the Lake and the town cinema to the interesting museums. Don’t miss the intriguing Castlerigg Stone Circle (1.5 miles), and stately Mirehouse on Bassenthwaite (5 miles). Or further afield, take a day trip to coastal Maryport 21 miles).

Enter the gated garden courtyard (which has shared access with the neighbouring property), and step up into the house, where you’ll find the charming galley kitchen, well-equipped for those home-cooked holiday feasts. You’ll find an electric oven with gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, a larder cupboard with a wine rack, and a convenient washer/dryer. As you walk through to the dining and living room, admire the contemporary-style interiors decorated in gentle warm hues and contemporary wall art, harmonising with the cottage’s period ambience with original windows, and an wood burner set into a beautiful stone surround. Dine around the table, then sink into the sofas and enjoy family film nights together around the Smart TV with Freeview and DVD player. When sleep calls, head upstairs to find a king-size bedroom and a spacious twin bedroom, both with ample storage and idyllic views over a church spire. A family bathroom featuring a recessed bathtub and a separate walk-in shower completes the accommodation.

Outside, there’s a courtyard garden with stone paving surrounded by plants and decorative features, plus dining furniture - ideal for al fresco evenings under the stars. You can lock your bikes here too, but please provide your own lock. There’s a car park within half a mile of the property (parking permit supplied), plus a variety of pubs, shops, and eateries to enjoy.

A fantastic little cottage really well located for accessing all the delights Keswick has to offer. Both bedrooms are a decent side as is the lounge but note the kitchen is itty bitty, not a negative just a comment - it has all the equipment you need to cook for your stay. We would defo use again.

This central cottage is perfect to access everything, you get a free car parking pass in any of the three Keswick car parks due to no parking space outside the cottage and all are within a short walk away. Definitely value gor money, ticked all the boxes, but the back yard would need to be tidy and cleaned before you could sit outside, hopefully that will be looked at then it would make it perfect

Whilst the cottage was clean & in a good location. There were none of the touches I would normally expect..no soap, shower gel, bath mat, tea/coffee or salt & pepper. It just felt like the owners made no effort to make the guests feel welcome.

A lovely cosy little cottage, perfectly located within 2 minutes of the centre of town and a short walk from the lake. Although the front door opens straight onto the street there was no problem with noise from passers-by or traffic.

A lovely cottage in a great location in the centre of town. It was very clean and comfortable with everything you need on your holiday. The beds were very comfortable and the double shower was great. It was nice to also have a bath which many properties havent. We wouldnt hesitate to book again, loved it .

The cottage was pretty but smaller than the photos showed. The street is busy and noisy, especially on a weekend. There was no welcome pack (tea, milk etc) which was disappointing. But the location was good.

On arrival we could not get into the property. Once in we had to have all the bedding changed, the duvet and pillows being stained. The property wasnt really what we expected. The property is in an ideal central location but the street is quite busy and at times noisy. The outdoor area is of little use, covered with weeds and the the table/chairs cRead moreovered in algae. The living room is quite dark and could do with painting and new soft furnishings. Definitely not the best cottage weve stayed in Hide
