The cottage is in an excellent location. The cottage is quite small and fairly dark downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped although the draws are a little rickety. Upstairs is light and the beds are very comfortable but frustratingly we couldn't open the window in the ensuite bathroom.

A fantastic location just off the main square in Hawkshead. Very close to several pubs and eateries, as well as the local shops. Great walks right from the door. Generally a comfortable cottage with good facilities. A few minor changes would make staying in Lantern Cottage perfect.

Fantastic central location. Lovely and warm throughout. Could do with a good clean. Logs and kindling as a starter pack would have been nice on arrival. Windows painted shut, which caused poor ventilation. Quite a few things broken or needing maintenance

The cottage is in a really nice location right in the middle of Hawkshead village. We stopped at the end of October, so at a colder time, but the cottage is warm enough with the heating and the fire, so no worries there. Beds are all comfy and there is plenty room to not be under each others feet all the time. Our only issues really were not being Read moreable to open more windows and could be a bit cleaner. All in all though, we enjoyed our stay. Hide

Lovely cottage, was clean, plenty of utensils in kitchen. No coffee pods sadly. There isn't any enclosed garden for dogs, so you do have to keep an eye in the courtyard. Fantastic location right in town. No fuel provided on arrival, but cottage is lovely and warm.

Lovely quirky cottage. Very central to village. Hikes from village so nice not needing car( which we left in car park) was snug for 5 adults but still plenty of room ( a few bumps to heads as low beams) kitchen had lots of implements. Lots of hot water and heating. Loved it!

Nice, comfortable, well equipped and convenient holiday cottage for a small family stay in the Lake District. Hawkshead has most of the essentials youll need and nearby Ambleside and the surrounding area has anything else you might need including great walks, coffee shops, restaurants and cinemas.

Ideal location for exploring the Lakes around Coniston and Windermere. Perfectly situated in the heart of Hawkshead. Red Lion and Sun Cottage chippy are highly recommended - really friendly, good food. The cottage is small and quite dark downstairs, headroom may be an issue for taller guests but obvioulsy it's a cottage so shouldn't be a surprise.
