Book a cruise or hire your own boats to take to the water and make a splash. Treat yourself to a delicious meal in Bowness-on-Windermere (10.5 miles) where you can also play a round of golf on the green at Windermere Golf Club. If there are any Wordsworth fans among you, visit Dove Cottage, a mile from home, where the writer lived from 1799.
After walks, leave coats, shoes and leads in the entrance hall before heading upstairs to the living space.
