Situated in an idyllic position above Lake Ullswater, the views from every window of this cottage are breathtaking. Spectacular walks for all abilities, from a stroll up to Lanty’s Tarn to a day’s hike up to the summit of Helvellyn, can be undertaken from the doorstep. A pub is within 300 metres, and shops, cafes and restaurants can be found down in the village of Glenridding just 800 metres away. This location is ideal not only for those seeking peace and tranquillity but also provides a perfect base for further exploration of the lakes and fells of the Lake District.

The cottage provides a warm welcome into the front porch which has seating where you can relax with a good book or a coffee and take in the views. The lounge with its original open fire and stone flooring is a comfortable place to unwind after a day of adventure. Next door, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, and there is a handy utility area in the back porch which is also a great space to dry off wet coats and muddy walking boots. There is also a ground-floor WC.

The stairs up to the first floor take you to a double bedroom with outstanding views. Across the landing, there is a single bedroom and a family bathroom. On the second floor, there is a spacious double bedroom with views of the fells and Lake Ullswater. The large picture window offers the perfect spot to sit at the end of the day and completely switch off as you look across the valley.

There is a small, secluded and attractive front garden with seating and views of the mountains. It is a real suntrap and a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or stargazing in the evening.

As the 2nd double room can be noisy with the wind during winter months, this property may be suitable for a party size of 3 from October - March.

Grand cottage comfortable and well situated.Perhaps could have had slightly better secure garden for our dog.

The cottage was in a perfect location, if you are in Glenridding for some hill walking. Cottage is traditional (apart from the stunning loft conversion). I found it comfortable and the views were lovely. I would happily return.

This cottage was perfect for our stay in the Lakes, utterly charming and extremely cosy. Had everything we needed and the views are spectacular from all rooms, especially the top bedroom which is huge. Its the end of terrace so views on 3 sides. A wonderfully situated cottage in the heart of the Lake District surrounded by beautiful walks with several pubs and local shops within walking distance. The cottage is delightful with spacious rooms, a well equiped kitchen and very comfortable beds. The huge main bedroom on the second floor and the bedroom on the first floor at the front of the prRead moreoperty have amazing views across the valley to the mountains on the other side. Despite the weather being very cold, the cottage's storage heaters kept it lovely and warm. The fire grate in the living room also got a lot of use! I would definately recommend the property. Hide

Fantastic location for walking from, with shops and pub very handy as well. Warm and cosy to come back to after days out walking the fells. The coal for the fire was appreciated. View from top bedroom lovely to wake to.

The cottage location is fantastic, at the foot of Helvelyn with great views. The short walk to Glenridding , alongside the river is a terrific way to start the day. .Blaes Crag is a wonderful cottage , perfect for walkers & dog owners. We have stayed there several times & never disappointed.

The views from this property are outstanding and the location is fantastic with lots of great walks on your doorstep. The property itself is tired and needs refurbishing but nevertheless we had a lovely stay

We enjoyed our stay. A cosy cottage, but needs updating. Not suited to anyone with mobility issues as stairs and hill steep. It is situated in a very busy part of the Lake District and if you are looking for peace and quiet, it isn't for you. There are people walking past constantly. The scenery is breath-taking. Whilst there are eateries within waRead morelking distance, the menus are limited and you had at least a 35 min drive anywhere eg., Keswick, Ambleside. Do your homework on location, we didn't. Hide
