The cottage is in a great location with walks from the door and on two bus routes to take you to other walks and facilities without needing a car. The bedrooms are clean and very comfortable. The location is wonderful. Fantastic walks straight from your door. Close enough to Keswich for shopping etc.. but remote enough to get away from the crowds. The cottage is clean and comfortable. It's worth noticing that food delivery vans to turn up for the pub next door, but these didn't bother us much. We had the benefit of eating in the pub - Read moreand there are stone baked pizza's available from the barn when you return from a long hike and don't want to cook! My only grumble was the cost, we have stayed in cottages of the same quality for a bit cheaper. Perhaps the location added cost. Hide

We absolutely loved our time at Bell Crags! The location is amazing, right in the heart of Borrowdale with the fells looming all around us in the dark as we arrived (Winter visit). We were gutted to find the pub isn't open between Christmas and February but that meant we had absolutely no issue with noise and enhanced the feeling of privacy. KesRead morewick is perhaps a 20 minute drive away to get essentials and do any shopping and there are loads of minor fells to head to either on foot (in the summer) or with a short drive. The house itself is very cosy with everything that you need for a weeks stay, internet was good, TV had Netflix, Heating was ample and easy to adjust. Kitchen was small but well equipped and really appreciated the tasteful amount of Christmas Decorations and little extras left for us to enjoy. Though no milk or tea/coffee so make sure to stop off on your way through Keswick. Bed was large and the view out of the window, all of the upper windows actually, had a wow factor each and every morning. Though the mattress either needs replacing or is too soft so meant we didn't sleep quite as well as we'd hoped we would. Garden out the back was a god send to just let the dog out on the frosty mornings saving me getting clothed and shoed first thing. Access to the creek out the back as well is (I imagine) a lovely activity to do with kids in the warmer months. Car parking was easy and secure once we knew which one to use but I'd park outside the property whilst you load/unload. All in all we loved our time here and more so than anywhere else I've stayed, genuinely forgot that this wasn't my house. We'd certainly have no hesitation to return in the future and if the mattress is replaced, there'd be no 'but' to the thought at all. Hide

Absolutely fantastic time had! Family of four, plus our German shepherd, it was our first visit to the Lake District, and won't be out last. We will definitely be booking here again as the location is superb. Remote enough to relax on your own, but close enough to facilities in Keswick when you fancy a night out. Cheers
