Sitting in the heart of the Wasdale Valley, home to England’s deepest lake and highest mountain, explore this beautiful landscape from your door. The edge of Wastwater is half a mile from your door so you can enjoy a waterside wander or a paddle in the crystal-clear water. Just 5 miles away is the pretty village of Gosforth where you can treat yourself to a night out or pick up your favourite ingredients. In the village churchyard, find the oldest and tallest Viking Cross in England.

Climb stairs to this first-floor apartment and settle in to make yourself at home. Open-plan with exposed beams and marvellous views, the kitchen/lounge/diner is the heart of the home. Find a spot on the sofa or a chair and get cosy in front of the TV. A selection of handy books on the local area will help you to plan your adventures. The small kitchen has all you need to cater from breakfast ‘til dinner. In addition to the electric hob, oven, separate microwave, fridge, and freezer, there is plenty of storage space. Cook up a storm and plate up at the dining table which has room for four guests. When it’s time for bed, both bedrooms boast fantastic views so you can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep and wake up to see your surroundings. Both rooms are doubles and share the contemporary shower room with walk-in shower and WC.

Excellent homely place for a holiday with great access to walks, extremely peaceful setting, scenery around property is stunning. sheep in car park you certainly know you are in the countryside outstanding place for very reasonable cost.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay, we had a really wonderful holiday, did loads of walking and some running. Loved all the climbing and running pictures, really cosy place.

Fantastic cosy peaceful cottage with stunning views. The selection of books, maps, and games was really thoughtful and we made great use of the Wainright books. The directions for how to find the cottage were great and the whole area is stunning with fantastic walks on the doorstep. The deepest water, the highest mountain and the smallest church inRead more England are all on the doorstep of the cottage. We came stocked up with food for the week as the nearest shop is about an hour away. Hide

Really comfortable accommodation and a property befitting the area. The location is ideal for exploring the western fells and west coast. The provision of the tea, coffee and milk sachets was a nice touch.
