Lovely little cottage and fantastic hosts. The shared garden worked really well for us and nice to be able to wander up and have a look round the gallery. Fantastic bridleway back from whinlatter trail centre meaning that after a day on the trails you can finish your final decent (almost literally) at the door.

Perfect base for a wonderful few days walking in the Lakes - cottage was comfortable and clean, in a peaceful location with spectacular views, with Keswick on hand when we needed supplies. We had a really lovely stay.

The cottage was shoddy, the worst I've ever stayed in. All furniture poor quality. Carpets and dogs is ridiculous. All utensils dirty and broken in the kitchen. No doors shut properly. Mould in bathroom. A thin interior door separating cottages is unforgivable. Would never go back even if you paid me

Cottage is well equipped, bed comfortable and location is great. However cottage looks tired inside and could do with a refurbishment .

Lovely cottage with a great garden for the dog. Had everything we needed including extra touches like quality shower gel and shampoo, conditioner and soap. Beautiful walks from the doorstep. Great pubs in the next village of Braithwaite. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay in Birch cottage. The beds were very comfortable. With everything we needed for our stay. We had great weather and loved sitting in the garden after a busy day sight seeing. The garden was enclosed and safe for our dog to wander about. Fantastic views and very relaxing. Just a short car journey into Keswick, with GrassmerRead moree and Ambleside not too far away. Will definitely book again, great value for money. Highly recommended. Hide

The cottage is in a great location and a good size but there were some issues with cleanliness and a smell of damp in the second bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The mattress in the main bedroom is quite worn.

Excellent location for many activities near Keswick. We really enjoyed our week at the accommodation and hope to return soon. The property is mainly carpeted and personally I think it would make life easier if this is changed for something more suitable for muddy paws and boots.
