Up to six people are welcome to stay at the single-storey property, which has a terrace featuring an impressive built-in BBQ. Wander into Pooley Bridge for a cup of tea or dine out in a local pub. Climb Heughscar Hill behind the village for far-reaching views out across Ullswater. Catch one of the famous steamers in the village and disembark at Aira Force to see the impressive waterfall. Head into Penrith, 6 miles away, to browse in independent shops and buy fresh produce in the farmers’ market. Hire boats, go canoeing or have a go at paddle-boarding on Ullswater during your stay.

Climb the steps up to the cottage and leave your coats and shoes in the porch. Wander on through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where French doors can be opened up on to the raised deck on warm spring and summer days. This bright room is also the perfect place to relax together, watch the Smart TV and DVD player settle in the window seat to take in the picturesque views. Two of these have king-size beds, TVs with Freeview, and en-suite shower rooms. There is also a twin room, which enjoys access to the family bathroom, with bath, with shower above.

Spill out on the terrace to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the fresh air. Light the splendid BBQ and sizzle supper out here on balmy evenings. There are two designated parking spaces for the cottage.

Lamb corner house is very well positioned to enjoy what Ullswater lake has to offer. It was great to be able to enjoy the water activities nearby as well as great walks without taking the car all the time. The proximity of the pub was also a nice surprise after a very active day outside. The house is very comfortable for a family with 2 teenagers. A fantastic cottage but there needs to be urgent attention to the improvements Ive highlighted above and not having the attitude that the next owners will choose their own decorations so whats the point? My wife has said she wouldnt come back again but I would because the location is terrific and the price early in the year reasonable.

Overhaul a pleasant stay apart from the high hedges. Obviously whether the parking issue will materialise remains to be seen with new occupants of the next door cottage.
