With views towards Bassenthwaite, just 7 miles from Keswick. Enjoy kayaking or canoeing on Derwentwater or explore the North Lakes by foot, bike, car, or bus. Mirehouse and Gardens are 4 miles to take a walk down to the shore. The Lake District wildlife park (1 mile) will be a hit for all ages. Set out on foot from the property towards Skiddaw and Blencathra. Skiddaw Summit is England’s fourth highest mountain and offers fabulous panoramic views. Treat yourself to a meal in the local pub which is only 0.5 miles away. The market town of Keswick has a great selection of eateries and rainy-day activities. Head to Whinlatter Forest (9 miles) where you can ride along a host of tracks and trails, there’s a high ropes course, cafe and outdoor play area. Or, for a day of indulgence, enjoy a spa treatment at Armathwaite Hall, less than 1 mile away.

As you approach this attractive converted barn you will find the covered entrance with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a bright and spacious hallway. To the right of the entrance, you will find a handy WC, a utility room, and a well-equipped kitchen that has an island and breakfast bar. The formal dining room leads off the kitchen, this room has views of Bassenthwaite in the distance and offers a great space to sit down as a party and catch up on the day’s events. Head through the French doors from the dining room into the lounge which has feature stone walls, a double-height ceiling with beams that opens into the gallery on the first floor. The large wall-mounted Smart TV is perfectly placed to cosy up on the sofa and watch a good movie. From the lounge you can head back into the hallway, to the left of the entrance on the ground floor you will find three en-suite bedrooms, a king-size, a double and a twin room. Heading up to the first floor from the lounge you will find the unusual landing which moves through the beamed ceiling with a cosy reading snug overlooking the lounge and a small games area to the other side. At either end of the barn on the first floor you will find two spacious en-suite king-size bedrooms one of which has a dressing room and a small lounge area with a TV. Due to the location of these rooms and low beams, there is some restricted head height.
Outside there is a large, enclosed garden with a lawn, a patio and seating. It offers a great spot to read a good book, enjoy a glass of wine or have a coffee on a sunny morning.

We have recently returned from a four night family holiday in Bassenthwaite Barn. It is a truly delightful property, very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We only wished that we could have stayed longer!

We rented this property for a family weekend and had a wonderful time; the location is stunning and the accommodation comfortable. There are many excellent places to eat in close distance to the Barn and Keswick is only a 15 minute drive away.

There are lots of positives to this cottage. It is very spacious, the beds are comfortable and it is in a good location. The welcome pack was lovely. On the down side, a lot of the crockery and glasses need replacing and it would benefit from a really good clean.

Big house with no airs and graces but plenty of space. It was great to be able to leave our cars and walk straight from the house. Very quiet location, even though the property is near the road.

Fantastic location with great views across the lake, easy walk into the Village but hotel on the doorstep. Well equipped for large parties and we found it totally suitable for young children although not marketed as such. Certain aspects were a little tired but overall what you would expect for a lakes holiday home.

We had an amazing holiday. Lovely place with lots of facilities and in perfect distance to visit lots of the Lake District. The house was clean, spacious and the beds were super comfy. The pub down the road is both dog friendly and does gluten free food and the bus stop is also round the corner if you want to visit Keswick without taking the car.
