Blending original features with beautiful furnishings and excellent modern amenities, this welcoming detached retreat is the ideal escape for families or friends looking to explore everything the wonderful Lake District has to offer. It’s located on the outskirts of the quiet village of Underbarrow, surrounded by delightful countryside criss-crossed with walking and cycling routes. The local pub welcomes our dog pals and serves food. Kendal, known as the gateway to the Lakes, is 3.5 miles, offering a fabulous choice of places to eat and drink as well as high-street and independent boutiques, a golf course and medieval castle ruins. The National Trust’s Sizergh house and estate is 4.5 miles away and Lakeland Maze Farm Park is 6 miles – both great options for a day out. A must-see while in the area is Lake Windermere, 7.5 miles, for cruises, boat hire, water sports and scenic walks.

Step through the porch and head into the welcoming kitchen/diner, with its large table set under stylish lights, providing a perfect space for celebratory meals together. The delightful farmhouse kitchen includes plenty of cupboard space, as well as a microwave and a dishwasher for convenience. Book lovers will enjoy the reading nook in the lounge. If you want to gather for a movie night, there’s plenty of soft seating arranged around a Smart TV, with a wood burner for cosying up around crackling flames in cooler months. When you’re ready for a good night’s sleep, head upstairs to find two lovely double bedrooms, both with beautiful beds and rural views. The twin room is equally charming with 3’ beds, which can be made into a super-king upon request. All the bedrooms share an elegant bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The large garden is mostly laid to lawn, bordered by hedges, trees and shrubs, and has an area where you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The generous driveway offers enough parking space for three cars.
