Providing light, fresh and cheerful holiday accommodation for up to six guests, this charming residence makes a fabulous base for walkers, hikers, cyclists and nature spotters eager to discover a breathtaking part of the Lake District. The property sits in a slightly elevated position above Ambleside, close to High Sweden Bridge which leads along to famous walks including Red Screes and the challenging Fairfield Horseshoe. Heading down into Ambleside itself you will find a rich mix of eateries, pubs and independents hops, alongside places of interest including the Ambleside Roman Fort, The Bridge House, Stock Ghyll Force and the Armitt Museum. Ambleside sits at the northern edge of Windermere, with an array of fascinating local landmarks and attractions including Stagshaw Gardens, Townend, Brockhole on Windermere, Wray Castle and Holehird Gardens all within 5 miles.

Five external stone steps lead down from the carport and into this traditional Lakeland cottage, with a welcoming hallway leading through to the fresh and colourful open-plan lounge/diner. Light pours into the lounge via the large patio doors, providing a relaxing space to unwind in, complete with a choice of seating areas, a TV and gas fire. To the rear of the room an elegant dining area is perfect for sharing a family feast which you can rustle up in the elegantly arranged and fully equipped kitchen which also has a useful breakfast bar. Exploring the ground floor further, there's a utility room with the washer/dryer and freezer, alongside a handy WC. The wooden open-tread staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find a stylish bathroom and a choice of three bright and tastefully furnished bedrooms. To the front, there's a cheery king-size room and a cosy twin, each with gorgeous views of the lake and the surrounding fells. To the rear, the bunk bedroom is perfect for children aged 5 years and over.

Heading outside, the delightful well-tended gardens comprise a mix of neat lawns and colourful, mature borders, with a charming patio offering an ideal spot for admiring the lovely views and for dining alfresco. There's also a covered veranda allowing you to take in the beautiful surroundings. Parking for one car can be found under the carport, with further parking available along the road.

This is a lovely holiday cottage - easily accessible on foot from Ambleside. Gorgeous views, nice style, decor & outdoor space. We had a lovely weeks stay. The beds are really comfy which helps with getting a good nights sleep after long hikes! Home from home.

Quiet location just a short walk from super cafes, bistros & pubs. Walks from the front door but also an incredible base for wider ranging hikes.

Gorgeus stay! The house is comfy and spacious and the garden so so beautiful! Above all, you can't beat the view! And the light entering from outside was amazing! I was a bit concerned as we booked last minute and the property looked so good in the pictures but it didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful week!
