Another great week at Bowfell! We have stayed in a lot of Ambleside cottages and this has become one of our favourites. It is located very centrally but in a very quiet road seconds from the shops and cafes. It is easy to stop off outside to unload before using the car park permit in the car park round the corner by the library. This is an extremely comfortable cottage, really well presented and with excellent facilities. With 2 bathrooms, very comfortable beds and a great downstairs space we found it perfect for all our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped and the cleanliness of the cottage was first class, as we have found is the case with all Lakeland Retreat CottaRead moreges. . The location was so central to Ambleside yet in a very quiet road with little traffic. The shops and cafes are just seconds from the door. We were able to pull up outside to unload with no issue. We used the nearby parking near the library with the permit. We loved staying here and would definitely return again. Highly recommend this cottage. Hide

Lovely place in the centre of Ambleside, comfortable beds and great selection of Dvds. I particularly loved watching the Matrix (original) after a long wet hike up and down Scarfell.
