A sumptuous retreat with an immaculate interior, this apartment in the village of Portinscale is ideal for those seeking to spoil themselves. Finished to a high specification, the three-bedroom retreat sleeps six guests eager to explore the central Lake District. Stroll 500 metres to the marina on the edge of Derwentwater to hire paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, rowing boats or pedalos and venture out onto the lake under your own steam. Make your way to the jetty in Keswick, 1.5 miles away, to take an organised cruise of the lake. While you are in Keswick, find the time to explore the shops, stock up on local produce or sit down to a meal in a pub or restaurant. You may also wish to book tickets to a show at the Theatre by the Lake. Pull on your walking boots and tackle the 10-mile waymarked path that runs right round Derwentwater.

Climb the external staircase to your private quarters and step inside, ready to be wowed by the stylish, contemporary interior. At the heart of the retreat is an airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can unwind, socialise and simply enjoy being in such a beautiful location. The picture windows here offer fabulous views out towards Derwentwater and the Borrowdale Valley. You may also be able to spot Carl Side and Walla Crag. Sink into the sumptuous, deep sofas with a good book or find a film on the TV to enjoy together. Listen to music and chat over a pre-dinner drink before settling in and preparing the next lavish feast. Dine together at the table inside or out on the balcony, depending on the season. As day becomes night, head through to one of your enticing bedrooms. Choose between the super-king-size, king-size and twin. The super-king-size and the twin both have zip-and-link beds that offer an alternative arrangement if discussed in advance. The super-king-size also has the added luxury of an en-suite shower room. Guests in the other two bedrooms can enjoy the family bathroom, where there is the option of a bath or a shower.

Savour the fresh air and scenery from the balcony during warmer weather. Dine out here on occasion and watch the shimmering lake as the sun sets. Guests benefit from private, off-road parking for two cars.

We where a party of four, two couples, we really enjoyed our stay at Derwent View, the apartment was clean, warm and well equipped and ideal for easy access to Keswick and the fells on foot. We would all definitely stay again.

Lovely property - the pictures don't do it justice. Fabulous location with incredible views. Everyone commented on the quality of the beds and general fit out. Would highly recommend.

Derwentwater View is very well presented with a balcony with a view over Derwentwater and has everything you need for your trip to the Lake District including: crockery, utensils and cooking equipment; maps and guide books for walking; DVDs for evening film watching; bedding and towels; and even some games to entertain the kids in the evening or onRead more a rainy day. We really liked the 3D map on the wall and sitting on the balcony to eat dinner in the evening. Hide

Lovely cosy appartment well located for ease of access to local amenities and hikes. Perfect place for a little group to stay. Very comfy and felt like home from home.

This was the perfect place for a weekend away with friends. The interior of the property is very cosy, and the balcony is a bonus when the sun is shining. It's in great location, with a nice short walk into Keswick or lots of other longer walking options. We'll hopefully be back again in the future.
