Fantastic location and a short walk to the shops in Windemere. Lovely presented property, clean inside and modern furnishings. Outdoor yard was only let down with dog doo not picked up and the bins overflowing which had blown across the patio.

Outstanding property!! The property is absolutely gorgeous - each room is tastefully decorated & it felt home from home. We absolutely loved the kitchen area with the sofa "snug" area which as a family was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need to self cater including a slow cooker. The bedrooms are comfy & quiet - shoRead morewers are lovely. Ample room to hang clothes too. The garden area is lovely we even sat out one sunny afternoon. Location is excellent with a very short walk to Windermere itself & Bowness not too far away - we stayed local to Windermere so we didn't use our car. Parking isnt an issue either - it's street parking however never had an issue finding a space upon arrival. Also the road wasn't busy come the evening either so if we had used our car we would have been able to park it easily on return. Walk to Orrest Head is fabulous! Thank you so much for making our stay the best we've ever had. Hide

Lovely accommodation, clean, spacious and modern...all facilities for self catering accounted for even down to sauces and spices in the cupboard. Felt at home straight away. easy walk to Windermere and Bowness further down. parking wasnt a problem which we thought would be as it was in the height of Summer. Extremely pleased.

We've been visiting the Lakes for 15 years now, usually stay in Ambleside or Grasmere but decided to give Windermere a go! Lovely house, very clean and nicely styled. Location was great for Windermere and there is a park a couple of minutes walk away which has loads of things to keep the children busy. Took us about 15m to walk into Bowness and woRead moreuld highly recommend the cinema for Lakes ice cream - we love Lakes ice cream anywhere, but the portion sizes at the cinema were insane! Back to the house - ample space for a family of 4. Would still feel spacious with 6 people I'd imagine. Sitting room was a lovely place to spend an evening, with games in the cupboard as a nice touch. The folder of info was helpful and the easy read maps gave us ideas of new walks to explore. The dining kitchen is the star of the show with 2 more sofas too so everyone could easily be together. The kitchen was well equipped - only missing a cheese grater from what we could see and that wasn't a dealbreaker for the meal! If you're someone that does a fair bit of your own cooking on holiday then this kitchen is fab with lots of room to work and a lovely big cooker. There was olive oil and a few essentials like salt, pepper, mixed herbs. Co op and Sainsbury's few mins walk away for easy grabbing of extra ingredients. Separate utility, downstairs loo all very useful, plus the outdoor space was just enough for a bit of playing and eating meals outside. Got the sun at teatime which was nice. Bedrooms were spacious, well made up, sufficient storage space as all beds had drawers in the divan bases as well as wardrobes/desks/chests of drawers. Kids loved unpacking and finding homes for all their things. Beds were comfy, lots of pillows and we liked having 2 double duvets on the super king bed for extra comfiness! The blinds throughout the property are lovely and add a real modern, cottage vibe. We liked that you could open them fully, our only tiny ask would be curtains in the bedrooms for full blackout as the blinds did let a fair bit of light in and the kids got up at 4.30! En-suite was roomy and the double headed shower was good. Water pressure was good (nothing worse than when the water can't get the shampoo back out of your hair!) and the bath a decent size in the main bathroom. There were plenty of towels & also bins in most rooms which is always handy. We liked the refillable washing up liquid and that a scourer was provided and it's always a bonus to have more than one tea towel when you're washing up all the time. There's certainly been lots of thought put into the property and it's up there with one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. Don't let the lack of private parking put you off either, this is the first time we've booked somewhere with on street parking as the only option as much prefer private parking space but it was totally fine and we got the car on the road every time. There were times it was busier but in the worst case you'd just go a street out and be fine. So much residential parking and lots down by the church further down the road that never filled. Thank you for a lovely holiday! We always use Lakeland retreats to book as they're a reliable, high quality company and this was another example of the fantastic places they have to offer. Hide
