Its an easy 10 minute walk into the town centre with all its attractions, or stroll to Waterhead and take a leisurely cruise on Windermere. Pack a picnic and head off to Wray Castle (4 miles) to explore the Victorian neo-Gothic mansion that ignited Beatrix Potter's love for the Lake District back in 1882. Go geo-caching or simply explore the western shore of Windermere – a peaceful alternative to the busier eastern side. Alternatively, lace up your hiking boots and climb Wansfell Pike from the door. Todd Crag and Loughrigg Fell are also within walking distance – you'll be rewarded with panoramic views over Windermere and Grasmere from the summit. Or set off to hike the 1.8-mile circular path around Tarn Hows (5.5 miles) – the views towards the Coniston Fells are spectacular.

The accommodation was lovely with the most stunning views! The location is great being just a short walk to the high street. It is a steep climb, but thats what we came for! We didnt use the car during our stay as all the walks we did started in Ambleside, so the car parking spot was very handy, And we walked to Grasmere and got the bus back, so trRead moreansport connections were great. It was very clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped, and smart tv came in handy but for our worn out toddler after a day hiking! We had a lovely time! Thank you! Hide

Heerlijk. Prachtig uitzicht, alles aanwezig. Comfortabel. Vanuit appartementben Ambleside allerlei wandelmogelijkheden. Heel centrale ligging voor Lake District.

Stand out views - the best we have had in the Lakes. Great property (the pictures on the website are spot on). Well presented and equipped, two WCs, easy parking. Perfect for the four of us. Excellent location - can walk into Ambleside in 10 mins down Blue Hill Road. Ambleside has brilliant dining options including two Michelin starred restaurants.Read more We ate at the Lake Road Kitchen - wonderful. Easy and more challenging walks from the door (Red Screes, Fairfield Horseshoe) but it was February so we did the easy stroll to Grasmere! Hide

Apparently we were the first to stay in this newly listed property. We had an excellent week (despite the November weather!). Loved the views and the private balcony. The flat is in a block of six and is in a quiet residential area -10 minutes walk from Ambleside and 15 minutes from Waterhead (a bit of mild uphill on the way back). Dedicated parkinRead moreg was a plus. Great walks from the door. Wansfell Pike was our favourite. Flat was really bright, airy and comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us. Nice and warm and very well equipped. Welcome gift a nice touch. We would definitely recommend this property and will be back. Hide
