The scenic hamlet of Newby Bridge (4.5 miles) offers more dining options along with a supermarket and access to the heritage Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, for quick access to other destinations, as well as the Lakeside Pier, where you can hop on a Windermere Lake Cruise. Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere (6 and 8 miles, respectively) boast a greater selection of shops and eateries, along with attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter, where you can see the author's iconic fairy-tale characters.

Cross the front garden and patio, and step into this charming cottage, thoughtfully arranged on a single level. An inviting open-plan living space is ideal for relaxing after a day on the fells. The quality of all the appliances, furnishings and facilities throughout the property are superb and makes for a luxury stay. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the views from the property were gorgeous to wake up too, it's so peaceful being in a small hamlet. I loved my stay and even extended by 2 more nights because I didn't want Read moreto leave. Hide

Lovely and quiet location but only a short drive to Windermere and Kendal. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped.

Had a lovely stay in this little gem. Spacious living room with a very comfortable sofa. TV good size and quality. The bed was spacious and ever so comfortable, didn't want to get out of bed ever! Bathroom had good bath and shower with medium water pressure. So close to windermere and not a bad drive from the other main lakes. Small and peaceful viRead morellage with a pub down the road that does amazing sandwiches definitely worth a visit! Had everything we needed, me and the dog. Would love to stay again! Hide

We had an amazing time, probably the best UK holiday we've been on! The cottage is incredibly cosy but spacious at the same time. There's so much to do and see in the immediate vicinity. Can't wait to stay again

Great week stay here! In a great location for exploring different areas with not too far of a drive. Two good pubs within walking distance & local walks too. The cottage was clean and had all the facilities needed including coffee machine & smart TV. Overall a great stay & we would love to go back again soon.

Lovely place, such a nice time staying here! Great place to stay when visiting the Lake District! Far enough a way from the businesses but close enough to drive quickly to places! So clean and lots of little extras for us to use and enjoy! 100% recommend, we will be back for sure!
