Nearby rivers provide equally peaceful settings, with Stock Ghyll Force (0.5 miles) and Skelwith Force (3 miles) found along the banks of the Rivers Brathay and Rothay. Follow the former on a rewarding hiking route up to Wansfell Pike (1.5 miles), just beyond the town centre.

Excellent I cant recommend this enough. Actually so good we should keep it a secret lol. Definitely dont go for this property so we can keep it for ourselves. Seriously excellent place to stay with so many plus points. Accommodation parking facilities location I could go on 10 out of 10

Great location for Ambleside. The loft is clean and spacious with views of the hills and rooftops. With the added benefit of parking which is really good to have close to the property. Within easy reach of all shops and restaurants and bars, it really is a wonderful place. Good value for money. Ideally situated for the town centre and walks from Ambleside. Car parking that close to town was a blessing. Well equipped with good quality crockery etc. Deli voucher a nice touch

Great property with rustic beams with a modern interior. Well equipped with all your needs and ideal for a couple. Great views over Ambleside and the mountains beyond. Property location is ideal both for central town and exploring further afield. Will definitely recommend & will return at some point in the future.

The Loft is perfect. Location, equipment, comfort, detail, parking, views, it's got the lot. We've stayed here several times and wouldn't stay anywhere else...if it's available! Also, Lakeland Retreats are equally good. We had a couple of niggly problems with the loo and front door lock, and both were sorted out within a couple of hours. Excellent Read moresupport and again, we wouldn't book through anyone else now and were very seasoned Ambleside visitors. Hide
