Elsewhere in the village, The Bridge House is one of the most photographed spots in the Lake District, as is the dramatic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall (1 mile). Before stepping into this traditional Lakeland retreat, take a moment to admire its characterful stone exterior and the surrounding greenery that sets the scene for a peaceful stay in the heart of the national park. On entry, you'll be greeted by the flagstone flooring of the whitewashed kitchen, which features everything you need for cooking up holiday feasts. Enjoy your meals in the adjoining lounge/diner, a chic room filled with light thanks to the bay window, where the wooden dining table sits. After each meal, unwind in the lounge space as you sink into the sofa, flick on the Smart TV, and fire up the wood burner for a cosy evening together. When the day comes to an end, climb the stairs to the first floor and take your pick from two bright and airy bedrooms: a master king-size room and a cosy single. Both bedrooms are served by a modern family shower room with a large walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, the peaceful cottage garden is bordered by an old stone wall and greenery, offering a fairy-tale setting for relaxation and al fresco meals at the outdoor furniture. You'll also benefit from private parking for one car, making your arrival and day trips a breeze.

Lovely, homely cottage. Very well equipped, great location, 5 minute walk outside Ambleside, with hill views from the window. Very cosy, beautifully decorated, lovely log burner with initial supply of logs and great instructions and additional information about the cottage and area. Topped off by a welcome pack. Only one query raised during our staRead morey about the heating which was dealt with immediately and successfully. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay again Hide

Another fantastic sty in the Lakes @Rushbrook. Mixed winter weather (snow, lots of ice, low cloud) Kept our waling to lower levels - Loughrigg, Wansfell, High Sweden Bridge - beautiful views. As usual drank some great beer in The Golden Rule and and had a very special meal at The Stamp House.

Lovely, clean, cottage in a great location to explore the lakes. Well appointed and thought out. We appreciated the kitchen being fully equipped with cooking essentials. Comfortable beds and hot shower with enough water for us all. The stove worked perfectly, and had a good draw. The brook was lovely. Heating controls were locked at 18.5 upstairs, Read moreand the display was bright for my son in his room during the night. We struggled to find the property, as the location pin linked to from the listing was wrong, but a very helpful call sorted that. Thank you. We found the location awkward for walking into Ambleside with a buggy, as the road can be busy to cross and on a nasty bend, so precarious with little ones. Fine for adults though. Worth checking. The exterior image implies you have the whole property, however the left portion is the listing, as it is adjoined to the right. The driveway is very steep, which was no issue for our vehicle, but worth checking if you have low clearance. Hide
