Chapel Stile is a quaint Lakeland village set amidst stunning scenery within the Langdale Valley, just a stone's throw from the popular Ambleside, 5 miles away. Neighbouring Ambleside offers some wonderful local shops and restaurants to discover, as well as one of the most photographed houses in the Lake District. This location is perfect for keen walkers and cyclists, with superb routes for all ages and abilities awaiting to be enjoyed beginning from the doorstep. Those who love life on the water can venture to nearby Bowness-on-Windermere, 10 miles away, to jump aboard a traditional steamer to sail Lake Windermere amongst superb views across the Lakeland fells.

Accessed from the back of the cottage at lower ground level, you'll find a welcoming entrance hallway with plenty of hanging space for your walking equipment and space to securely store your bike. Follow the open tread spiral staircase up to the ground floor to find the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Boasting a roaring wood burner, a stylish, contemporary finish, rich oak flooring and plenty of natural sunlight, this bright and airy space offers room for the whole party to cook, unwind and dine. Another set of stairs leads up to the first floor, where you'll find the two bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, which both enjoy a wonderfully peaceful ambience that beckons tired travellers to unwind. A really lovely property in a great location with lots of walks that you could do directly from the cottage. It was nice having the pub and shop so close too (although it was hard to get a table at the pub!). The EV charging all worked fine too, once we had figured out the instructions.

A wonderful place to stay to explore the lakes. Very comfortable and has everything you need. The space downstairs is very handy for storage of anything you need for cycling/walking. Would most certainly recommend and use again if we returned to Chapel Stile.

Loved our stay. The house was perfect for our family and dog. Kitchen is very well equipped. WiFi is fast. Smart TV is perfect. Walks from the front door are excellent (Rydel Caves and Silver How). There is also a basement with another toilet and utility area which is very helpful. Note, we couldn't find (but didn't ask) an outdoor tap for dog washRead moreing - so took water from the kitchen in a bucket. The driveway at the back is good dog washing space. Hide

Excellent location for Langdale and Ambleside. Warm, clean & comfortable. All facilities (including a top end de'Longhi coffee machine) provided. Good local pub and shop 5 minutes walk away. Perfect for lakeland walks from the doorway.
