Lovely comfortable and warm cottage , perfect for our Christmas stay. Excellent location for all amenities yet on a very quiet road . Beautiful walks , straight from the door , without the need to use the car , although the parking was only a few minutes walk away. Will be back again in summer time .

We really loved our stay at Pavement Cottage. It was perfect for myself and my husband with our two children aged 9 and 11. Excellent location, right in the middle of Ambleside with all its restaurants and shops but still quiet. There is SO much to do in the local area, we enjoyed some fantastic walks, paddleboarding on Windermere, the Ambleside clRead moreimbing wall on a rainy afternoon as well as mountain biking and go ape at nearby grizedale forest. Stayed for three nights. The location is the big selling point, right in the heart of Ambleside which is itself right in the heart of The Lkae District. Comfortable and reasonably well equipped. The parking is 5 minutes walk from the cottage, which may be an issue if you are less mobile. Would stay here again, which is always the acid test for me

Great location - restaurants, cinema, hiking / outdoors wear shops all within walking distance. Great walks and outdoor activities close by. We particularly enjoyed exploring the langdale valley.

We had a lovely stay at Pavement Cottage - it's in a brilliant location close to everything Ambleside has to offer but in a little back street so nice and quiet. The cottage itself had everything we needed and well suited to a family of four. Just beware the sloping ceilings in the attic room if you're particularly tall! Lots of great places to eatRead more including BarEs Mexican tapas and Sheila's Cottage - both only a few minutes walk away. Also loved Apple Pie Bakery and Dodd's Italian restaurant. Lots of great walks in the area and easy access to Lake Windermere and boat trips. All in all a great stay. Hide
