This charming stone-built Edwardian-era semi-detached cottage makes a fantastic holiday base for families and friends eager to explore an unforgettable part of the Lake District. The property lies in the picturesque village of Far Sawrey, where you will find a choice of traditional inns, with a half-mile walk leading to Near Sawrey and Hill Top – the former home of Beatrix Potter. The Claife Viewing Station lies to the east (1 mile) overlooking Windermere. To the north, the cheerful village of Hawkshead (3 miles) sits at the head of Esthwaite Water, or you can head west to the beautiful Coniston Water (6 miles). For eager walkers, hikers, nature spotters and history buffs, the area has a wealth of attractions, including Tarn Hows, Brantwood, the Ruskin Museum, Wray Castle and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all within 8 miles.
Entering the property via the French doors to the rear, you will be greeted by the inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which makes a lovely space for settling back and relaxing after a memorable day exploring the Lakes. The family dining table occupies a light and central position by the French doors, with the sleek and fully equipped kitchen area to one side. Heading further inside, the cosy lounge features an open fire, ample seating and a TV, with double doors leading through to a cheerful additional snug. The ground floor also has a handy shower room. Going upstairs, you will find the elegant main bathroom and three colourful, tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated bedrooms: a sweet king-size room, a cute single and a lovely zip-and-link which can be made up as a twin or a super-king-size room.
Heading outside, the gravelled patio is a charming spot for dining alfresco. Further seating can be found along the beautiful sheltered lawn to the side, and there's also a veranda to the front of the cottage with furniture, overlooking the pretty front garden. Off-road parking is available for two cars. Please note that a number of stone steps lead to the front door and a couple of steps to the back door.
