We stayed for a week and loved this property. It is spacious, warm and welcoming, with lots of daylight coming through the velux window at the top of the stairs, and with views to the hills in both directions. The living area is very comfortable and the kitchen has a good and very clean oven and hob and is generally well-equipped for some holidayRead more cooking (as ever, bring a sharp knife and your preferred chopping board if you'll be doing a lot). Upstairs, the two bedrooms (a double and a twin) provide flexibility, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and comfortable beds. Each bed has a controllable electric heated blanket, so you can be as cosy as you like. The bathroom has a lovely large shower cubicle, with a rainwater shower head, and an effective extractor fan. The location is brilliant, in the centre of Keswick next door to a useful Co-op, moments away from Booths supermarket and a very short walk from the high street. It is also a short walk from Fitz Park and the lovely Greta railway path beyond. The dedicated parking spot, right outside the property, is very helpful. The owner contacted us directly with the key code and left a tasty lemon cake to welcome us, thank you Isobel :-) When booking, I was initially put off by the sizable deposit against damage but, having seen how well the apartment has been looked after, I can see it is an arrangement which works very well. The deposit was refunded promptly after our holiday. We enjoyed a visit to the theatre by the lake, and ascending Blencathra via Halls Fell Ridge (easy scramble) under clear blue skies. Hide

Lovely Cottage in great location. We chose it because we had one car between two of us but being so close to all amenities we didnt need to always be together or to do the same thing, especially with our bus passes!

We had a wonderful stay at Slate Knoll. The house was perfect for us as a family of four; warm, cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The lemon drizzle cake and board games were particularly appreciated, and the kids loved watching for buses out of the bay window! It was a very short walk into the centre of Keswick, and to the lake shoRead morere. And the off street parking was a big advantage. Isobel was very hospitable and super prompt responding to emails. I would highly recommend. Hide

Lovely comfortable cottage with everything you need. Buses go to most places so you dont need to use your car once there. The cottage is well placed near centre of the town.

Loved Slate Knoll! The accommodation was a decent size for our family of 4. Lovely and well presented. Everything you need is there. Great location! some days the car never moved. Such a lovely touch to get in and there be a pint of milk ready for us gasping for a cuppa and a lovely lemon drizzle cake. We will be using Slate Knoll again. Thank You
