Popular seaside spots including St Bees (3.5 miles) and Whitehaven (6.5 miles) are well worth a visit, with the latter offering an abundance of fascinating local history to discover. This cottage was perfect for the our stay - our dog was super happy with the enclosed garden and especially the adjacent enclosed field. Really nice cottage. The field is brilliant for dogs and the rabbits are ever present as a fun distraction. I doubt any will ever be caught. Well equipped, really comfortable and easy to keep on top of with Labrador that sheds constantly. Great location to explore the often missed West Cumbrian coast and English coastal footpath. Great beaches.

Hardheads Cottage is very spacious. The master bedroom & bed are huge! The private field is massive, well fenced & full of bunnies (our dogs kept themselves happily occupied sitting at the gate watching BunnyTV). Fresh farm eggs available from the best named rescue chickens. Two fire places. The separate utility room/laundry was very useful. A fab cottage which is much bigger and better than the photos. Everything about the cottage is great and is so dog friendly even my English Setter (ex hunting dog) couldn't escape the attached field! Have recommended to family and friends already. Loads of lovely walks within a 20-30 mins drive and plenty to do with the kids.

We had a great time at this quirky cottage. Spacious, clean and the cottage had everything we needed. Perfect location to explore this beautiful part of the country. Stunning lakes; and incredible views from the top of Crags. Honestly it was breathtaking. The dogs also had a fantastic time and loved chasing the rabbits around the secure field.

A really quirky place to stay. It was clean, warm, well equipped and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The dog loved the field. The owners who love next door were friendly, but did not intrude. When outside, there was the constant dstant noise of traffic from the main road.

Thank you for the great stay - location was great for the beach and the field for the dog was a godsend. The added benefit of the wood and coal for the two woodturners was much appreciated. Very quirky cottage with a homely feel - a great Xmas break, have already recommended to our doggy friends.

Lovely cottage. Good location for lakes and coast. Kitchen well equipped, nice powerful shower and all very clean. The enclosed field is great to have. One of our dogs has a high prey drive and doesn't go off lead. She loved it, but fortunately wasn't quick enough for the rabbits.
