Sitting 1.5 miles from the heart of Threlkeld, enjoy your peaceful location whilst being close to all the amenities you will need throughout your stay. The village has a welcoming pair of pubs where you can reward your walks and climbs with a tasty meal and a cold pint. If you’re partial to exploring on two wheels rather than on foot, the Sustrans Sea to Sea route passes nearby and is a great trail to head out on. If you encounter a rainy day or two, the King Kong Climbing Walls are located less than half a mile from your door so you can stay entertained come rain or shine. If you fancy a walk with panoramic views, Blencathra is a mile away and well-worth the climb to the top.

Arrive at this humble abode, step through the entrance porch and find yourself in the dining room. With a feature fireplace and a table to seat six guests, enjoy meals together and quality family time. The kitchen offers natural light from the patio doors and has two ovens, tall fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. A handy WC is also located on this floor. Offering you somewhere bright and cosy to relax, the lounge has a wood burner (with smokeless fuel included) and comfotable seating. The first double room has an additional bunk bed which can accommodate a further guest and boasts fantastic views of Blencathra – a real treat when you wake up and open the curtains. The second double is a smaller room and has views towards the Helvellyn range. Both bedrooms have sloping sections of ceiling but these shouldn’t restrict your head room. Rise and shine and head into the family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Fantastic location, well equipped (great that it had both a French Press and Italian coffee pots and lots of useful things for cooking) and excellent value. We loved staying here. The property was comfortable and much more spacious than the pictures suggest. Great views all around. Perfect for Blencathra, walking into Keswick (regular buses if you Read moreneed them) and day trips further afield. Ate at the local pub (a 20 minute walk) which was great. The mining museum was also quirky and worth a visit. Hide

We had a lovely week here. The location is ideal, in a small hamlet in the countryside but with quick access to the shops in Keswick, wildlife on the doorstep and sheep in the field. We walked from our door up onto Clough Head. The house has plenty of heaters, electric blankets and hot water bottles. The kitchen is very well equipped with very modeRead morern cooker etc. Towels, hairdryer, Iron etc are provided. Hide

A large property in a good location with excellent views. The property is well equipped. It has charging for EVs with a 7kw charger (own cable required) though some trial and error is required to get this working. The master bedroom, living room and bathroom smelled damp. The kitchen ceiling needs attention, even if this is "safe", cracks and bulgiRead moreng plasterboard are not what we expected in a holiday property. Cleanliness was poor - we found algae growing in the coffee maker. Hide
