Set atop the hills in an idyllic location, a short 1.5 miles from the bustling market town of Ulverston, this property offers the best of both worlds, be it walking and cycling through country lanes or dining out in delightful restaurants. Additionally, the town plays host to art exhibitions held at the historic Coronation Hall throughout the year. Ulverston hosts a diverse array of festivals, from culinary and beer festivals to the renowned Dickensian Festival, among others. Situated a little over 9 miles away is Newby Bridge, where the southernmost point of Lake Windermere reaches towards the village of Lakeside, home to Windermere Lake Cruises (10 miles). For a touch of nostalgia, visitors have the opportunity to relive the past by indulging in a steam train journey from Newby Bridge to Haverthwaite, 7 miles distant from the charming cottage. Head 14 miles to visit the popular Cartmel Racecourse.

Stepping into the cottage, you are welcome to kick off your muddy boots and hang your coats in the porch before entering the spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. Enjoy the panoramic views from the floor-to-ceiling patio doors whilst cosying up in front of the wood burner, or why not spend an evening catching up on your favourite series on the Smart TV? Breakfast can be enjoyed from the island whilst the chef of the house makes use of the amenities, amply supplied with everything you need for your self-catering stay. Heading through the high-ceilinged hallway you can find the well-appointed twin bedroom, with a TV and beautiful views – it’s a peaceful place to slumber after a day on the fells. Opposite, you can find the family bathroom, with a stunning roll-top bath and walk-in rainfall shower. Further ahead, the master bedroom can be found, a spacious king-size room with plenty of storage, a TV and a bijou en-suite.

Soak in the enchanting far-reaching fell and sea views from the garden. Enjoy a glass of wine from the elevated patio whilst the sun goes down. There is also a small stream at the end of the garden.

Excellent little cottage, beautifully and tastefully presented and extremely clean. The location is perfect providing excellent views of the rolling hills of the the lake district and the seaside. Great place to stay, view is fantastic. Sofa is very comfortable, several naps were taken. Walk from the door on the Cumbrian Way and easy access to Coniston and Windermere and beyond. Outdoor seating provided is ,unusually, of excellent quality. Ample space for 4 people. Property being on working farm not an issue, we werent troubled by owners moRead morevements. We have just returned from a week stay at Ringwiddy at cottage. Its very well equipped and comfortable. Two good size bedrooms, one with en-suite. Everything provided, towels, tea towels, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, even washing pods and dish washer tablets. Welcome biscuits along with milk were also on hand when we arrived. The oRead morewner lives onsite so is available should any problems occur. Parking right outside front door. Situated a mile or so outside of Ulveston on top of fell providing amazing views over countryside and views of morecombe bay and John Barrow monument in distance. Great location for Windermere, Coniston, Hatherwaite railway and Lakeland motor museum. If youre a walker theres plenty of hiking trails. If you want to eat out I can recommend the Anglers Arms in Hatherwaite for some good food. Theres also a good selection of pubs and cafes in Ulverston. Missing the views already! Hide

Ringwiddy Cottage is an absolute delight. The conversion has been done to an extremely high standard. Spotlessly clean, cosy & comfortable, equipped with everything you need and more. We had the added bonus of a Christmas tree & beautiful lit garland up in the beams, which was lovely. The location is perfect, a few minutes to Ulverston and a short Read moredrive to the lakes. The panoramic views certainly had the wow factor and those of the snow capped fells were just stunning. Would highly recommended. Hide

Ringwiddy was all we'd hoped for, and then heaps more! We've stayed at many holiday cottages across the UK, and this is amongst the very best. It was super clean, warm and inviting. It was like the cottage welcomed us with a very big hug! Just the place to wind down, relax and take in the AMAZING view from the lounge. Our first visit to the Lake District and so glad we found this perfect accommodation. We stayed 5 nights as a family of 4 and couldnt have been happier. The view is breathtaking and the accommodation is top spec and immaculate! This beautiful cottage was stunning and would highly recommend to anyone and enjoy these amazing views can not wait to go back. We as four girls came up from London on the train and decided to walk or use public transport,so easy to get about and enjoyed different parts of Cumbria.we did not miss our cars as the walks are very scenic 40 minutes by Read morefoot or 10 minutes in a cab to some very nice pubs and restaurants. From time to time you may book a facility that does not live up to its billing i.e. a site that may once have looked like it does in the pictures online but now if far past its best. Ringwiddy cottage is just the opposite, it is every bit as pristine in reality as it appears online, it's as though we were the first guests to stay there. Ringwiddy Cottage is very comfortable , spotlessly clean and has spectacular views. We loved the peaceful location and the friendly hosts , Ian and Rose , were always on hand if we needed anything. We couldn't have chosen better for a return visit to Cumbria after a gap of some years and we intend to return next year.

First of all, a big thank-you to our great hosts, Rose and Ian, for a really friendly welcome to their gem of a cottage. The cottage is beautiful, with everything you could wish for, to have a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The view is stunning and we wanted to take it home with us. We alternated our time between enjoying lazy days at the cottage and Read moredays out in the beautiful surrounding Lake District. This property is a real home from home. Everything is there in its place. I really cant fault it and would highly recommend it . Just bear in mind the access for less mobile would be through the large picture window/ doors at the back of the property. Otherwise it is faultless and I felt privileged to stay there. This is a loverly cottage in a stunning location. The view from the patio door is spectacular and being close to Ulverston and some really good restaurants is a bonus. The really nice hosts couldn't be more helpful.

This cottage is a cut above some others we have stayed at. It is clean and fresh with everything you need for a happy stay. The views are amazing and the warmth of the building and the welcome were most impressive. Thanks we had a great time. Top tip - visit the Bay Horse pub at Canal Foot they serve excellent meals with a smile.
